Let’s cover some things before any of you start shouting at me for spoiling a movie: you clicked on an article about talking about potential spoilers for the said movie. Avengers: Infinity War is yet to hit theaters so all of this is purely speculation and conjecture based solely on the toys designed for the movie. If something I talk about does happen in the movie, I guess this is your spoiler warning. Make sure to take everything I say with a massive grain of salt. History has shown that though some toys showcase events in the movie they’re based on, some of them have no connection or change certain elements. Toys are different than movies in terms of the type of entertainment they provide, so it should come as no surprise that elements change between the mediums. Many times we see toys made to look as cool as possible for the simple fact of helping it fly off store shelves. With a property as big as The Avengers there are a ton of toys coming out alongside the Hollywood blockbuster event that is Avengers: Infinity War. I’ve done my best to search the web for all of the toys and toy-ish products that have or are set to release. There will be a toy from Avengers: Infinity War that I miss, no need to remind me in the comments. Let’s now take a look at 25 ridiculous toys that already spoiled Avengers: Infinity War, maybe. Remember, massive grain of salt, folks.
25 Hulk Is In The Hulkbuster
Thanks to Thor: Ragnarok, fans are seeing the Hulk in a whole new light. He’s slowly starting to gain intelligence and can now talk and express feelings. Yes, it may be at the capacity of a 5-year-old, but progress is progress. Thanks to this Lego set we can clearly see that Bruce Banner pilots the Hulkbuster during the events of Avengers: Infinity War.
This was an assumption amongst fans after watching the trailer, but did they have to outright spoil it?
Now you may be asking why a guy who can turn into the Hulk would need to pilot a suit of armor. Well, Bruce either doesn’t want to or can’t transform into the Hulk. He still wants to stop Thanos, but probably believes he will leave a path of destruction in his wake in an attempt to save the universe.
24 Captain America’s Shield Returns
Now, this isn’t a huge surprise. One of the most iconic quotes from the trailer for Avengers: Infinity War features T’Challa calling for someone to grab Captain America a shield. We even go as far as to see his new vibranium bracers that now accompany his muted black Nomad costume. Though we knew the bracers expanded we had no idea they turned into a full-blown shield. Then again, they might not ever do this in the movie. When a child buys a Captain America toy they assume it comes with a shield, so maybe this was a creative workaround to use already created assets to make a more appealing toy. The shield he’s wielding is pretty large in comparison to the bracers. Does he combined them into one, or can he rock two of those things at once?
23 Black Widow Double Batons
Sometimes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, more specifically the Avengers titles, it’s hard to believe that Black Widow can contend with the powers of their enemies in the films. Yes, she’s a highly trained secret agent with years of combat and firearms training, but at the end of the day, she’s just a talented human.
It seems that in order to combat the new alien threat from Thanos known as the outsiders Black Widow will be wielding a pair of enhanced batons.
It is more than likely this means that Wakanda, Shuri specifically, is going to outfit the Avengers with a bunch of new technology, weapons, and accessories. Black Widow wielding a weapon to fight the outriders isn’t a spoiler. The fact that we now know they might be cool electric batons is the real possible spoiler here.
22 Classic Hawkeye Design
Where is Hawkeye? This is the question on everyone’s mind during the lead up to Avengers: Infinity War. Clint Barton is nowhere to be seen on any of the promotional and marketing materials for the film. This would seem a lot stranger if we didn’t already get his character arc from the film slightly spoiled for us. Marvel is trying to hide the fact that Hawkeye makes the transition into Ronin over the course of the film. Something dramatic is probably going to happen for him to take up the new mantle and disappear on a personal journey of sorts. Does the toy pictured above mean he’s also getting his iconic purple bow back? Not a chance. There might be a nod, but don’t get giddy expected Ronin to wield such a loud and obnoxious weapon.
21 Teen Groot Ready For Combat
We all fell in love with Groot during Guardians of the Galaxy. Groot’s fighting style is very brutal, straightforward, and kind of disturbing at times. In the sequel, we fall in love all over again, but this time with the newly grow Baby Groot. He’s adorable, clumsy, and often aloof. He doesn’t really do much fighting due to his stature, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t steal the show.
In Avengers: Infinity War we’re going to meet and get super familiar with Teen Groot.
It seems that this is that weird awkward phase everyone goes through where he isn’t cute or strong, he’s just lanky and strange. Thanks to this toy it seems we might see the return of Groot’s iconic arm extension move from the first Guardians of the Galaxy. Here’s hoping he doesn’t do the nostril move again.
20 Black Widow’s New Gadgets
Black Widow is going to have a ton of awesome Wakandan technology to play around with if the toy pictured above is any indication. It seems that alongside the electric batons she’ll be wielding, Black Widow is also going to have these stingers at her side. It’s tough to picture what they’re actually capable of, but maybe it has something to do with producing neural bursts to the invading outrider army. Considering she does all of her fighting face-to-face and is an expert grappler, it would make sense that these gauntlets require physical interaction to fire off. Then again, this could all be for show and she’s simply expected to take on ferocious 6-armed beasts with her tactical espionage training. Good luck with that, Black Widow.
19 Captain America & Black Widow Defend The Space Stone
This is where the toys start going off the deep end in terms of making any bit of sense at all. This Lego set is telling us that at some point in the movie Captain America and Black Widow defend the Space Stone from the invading outriders. Now, this means one of a couple of different things. The first possibility is that it’s a toy line that’s used to showcase the movie and the stones are thrown into each set so you can have them all when you finish the collection. The other means that, at some point, maybe the stones become dislodged or are removed from the gauntlet by the Avengers. Thanks to the trailers we know Captain America comes face to face with the mad titan but is Cap holding him back from re-securing the Space Stone?
18 Falcon’s New Wings
Now, this one is tough to decipher. I went back and forth looking at Falcon’s wings from Captain America: Civil War and comparing them to his wings in this toy. It seems that they look almost identical, but there are some subtle differences. These type of aesthetic changes happen from film to film, but these might be some fortunate upgrades via Wakandan tech.
The trailers have shown that Falcon will indeed make his way over to Wakanda with many of the other Avengers.
Like Black Widow, Falcon is simply a human with some great training that led to specialized abilities. In order to contend with the outrider army, he’s also going to need some well-deserved research and development from the likes of Shuri.
17 High-Speed Nowhere Chase
The Lego set above includes a weird space vehicle that is reminiscent of the speeders from the Star Wars franchise. Is this the vehicle Starlord and Gamora use to escape Thanos when they see him take the Reality Stone from the Collector? It definitely looks like it falls in line with the rest of the designs throughout Nowhere. The Russo brothers have promised a ton of amazing moments for many different characters throughout the film.
Does this toy showcase a high-speed chase on Nowhere?
We also know that this isn’t a mini spaceship of some sort considering Peter Quill isn’t using his helmet. With the Reality Stone in his possession, we could see Thanos lay waste to the entire celestial head that Nowhere is located inside of.
16 Winter Soldier’s New Loadout
Thanks to Black Panther we got our first look at a healed and seemingly fully recovered Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier. The local kids that lived close to where he was being safeguarded called him White Wolf. It’s assumed that this is simply a nod to a Black Panther character from the comics and not the mantle Bucky will take on now that he is once again himself. Just because the brainwashing is all but gone, it doesn’t mean that he immediately loses his hand-eye coordination and abilities. Let’s not even get started on his brand new shiny vibranium arm. Do you think this toy is showing the Winter Soldier’s new go-to weapon or is it simply a weapon designed to fight the outriders? Either way, it seems like it might quickly become an iconic part of the MCU.
15 Hulk And The Soul Stone
Earlier I mentioned that the Lego sets, in particular, seem to each include a stone, in hopes of persuading people to buy all of the sets and collect all of the stones. If this is the case, which it probably is, then their placement with specific heroes in specific areas doesn’t really mean anything at all. For the sake of the list, however, let’s play around with the idea that there may indeed be spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War.
The Hulkbuster Lego set clearly shows Bruce Banner fighting to protect the Soul Stone.
Little is known about the location of this stone, but many believe it’s at the core of the meteorite that created vibranium after crashing in Wakanda. If it is indeed in Wakanda then it makes sense that Banner would be ready and willing to sacrifice himself in order to keep the stone away from Thanos.
14 Breaching Wakanda
In Black Panther, audiences were introduced to Wakanda, vibranium, and how the relationship between the two flourished into the most technologically advanced nation on Earth. Thanos isn’t dumb, he knows that in order to break into Wakanda it will take an army, maybe even more. This Lego set shows a giant saw-type device that might be used to literally cut through Wakanda’s defenses. In the trailers, we see that Wakanda has a giant force-field that protects the city from all intruders. Maybe the Black Order whips up the blueprint for these devices after analyzing where Vision and the Mind Stone were transported. It will be great to see whether or not these devices even work, or if the mad titan himself must once again take matters into his own hands.
13 Teen Groot Mercenary
So, Teen Groot is going to fight some people in Avengers: Infinity War. We already covered a toy that shows us his patented arm elongation technique is making a return. Now it looks like Groot will be taking after Rocket Raccoon for parts of the movie. This toy shows us that at some point during the film Teen Groot is going to wield a firearm and join in on the fight.
Older Groot never used a gun, but it seems that was due to his large stature, and possible his inexperience with guns in general.
A younger more agile Groot seems like the type of individual Rocket Raccoon can groom into his predecessor or protege. I think most audience members want to see Teen Groot fight the only way a Groot can, but if there are a ton of enemies to worry about guns might be a necessity.
12 Thanos’ Sword
The weapon everyone’s afraid of Thanos wielding is, of course, the infinity gauntlet. It’s what Avengers: Infinity War entirely revolves around. If Thanos’ main weapon is the gauntlet, then what on Earth is this sword that he’s wielding? At first glance, it seems way to large and broad to be Heimdall’s sword he used on Asgard. This more than likely is the weapon he used to conquer planets when Gamora and Nebula were taken as prizes from their homeworld. The trailer showed a very young Gamora holding onto Thanos’ finger as they’re escorted off of a nondescript planet. This is more than likely a flashback shedding light on Gamora’s past and allowing the audience to learn more about who Thanos was, is, and will soon become.
11 Scarlet Witch/Vision Combo Moves
One of the best parts of the Avengers films are the team-up combo moves that showcase the teamwork and training they put in with one another. The first Avengers film featured Iron Man deflecting his beams off of Captain America’s shield, and it’s a move they’ve used numerous times since. After each of their introductions in Avengers: Age of Ultron we’ve quickly become witness to a budding romance between the Scarlet Witch and Vision. Fans of the comics started cheering as they began seeing an iconic comic relationship beginning to unfold in front of them. We know they’ll be by each other’s side, but does this toy indicate we’re getting some amazing Vision/Scarlet Witch combo moves? Here’s hoping Corvis Glaive or Proxima Midnight are the recipients.
10 Iron Spider Has 4 Legs
Now, this Lego set didn’t have the honors of spoiling the Iron Spider suit, I mean we first saw the thing prominently at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming. It did, however, if it’s to be believed, show us that Marvel made a seemingly obvious decision to slightly redesign the suit from the comics.
Outside of the slightly different coloring on the surface of the suit. its iconic appendages are different as well.
In the comics, Peter has the ability to gain the use of 3 extra legs that jut out of the back of the suit. This Lego set seems to indicate that the suit will have 4 extra legs in the MCU. Many fans believe the choice of three legs in the comics was to more easily disassociate the look from Doc Ock. What do you think about the switch?
9 Starlord’s Upgrades
In this article, we’ve covered several different heroes getting massive upgrades to their armor and weapons thanks to Shuri and vibranium-based technology. Black Widow is possibly getting some new combat weapons. Falcon is potentially receiving new wings. Heck, Shuri built Bucky a new body and mind.
It seems that Peter Quill is also the beneficiary of some weapon upgrades.
It’s not clear whether these are made by Rocket Raccoon or Tony Stark, but if their exchange in the trailer is any indication, Tony and Quill aren’t exactly best friends. The most likely inventor of Starlord’s new gadgets is Rocket Raccoon. Though Rocket and Groot separate from the rest of the Guardians to help Thor, it doesn’t mean they left without a parting gift.
8 The Vision Survives
The fact that Corvus Glaive is after the Mind Stone in Vision’s head isn’t necessarily breaking news, but the fact that Corvus Glaive makes his way to Wakanda to track down the android is. Not only does this Lego set show Corvus Glaive getting away with the Mind Stone, it portrays two key moments if film accurate. The first thing it confirms is that Vision can and will survive being separated from the stone that brought him into existence. The other is that we may see a showdown between Corvus Glaive and Black Panther for the Mind Stone. Will T’Challa be the one who breaks Corvus’ glaive and removes his immortality? What a cool moment it would be to see the Black Panther annihilate the glaive through defense or an amazing series of strikes.
7 First Look At Stormbringer
By now everyone knows that Thor, Teen Groot, and Rocket Raccoon will be on a journey in Avengers: Infinity War. This journey focuses on Thor and his quest for a new weapon. After the events of Thor: Ragnarok Thor is looking to get himself a brand new hammer considering Hela obliterated Mjolnir with little-to-no effort.
It’s assumed that they’re going to forge his new weapon in the heart of a dying star.
Many people believed his new MCU weapon would be his hammer Stormbreaker from the comics. The toy above gives us our first look at his new iconic weaponry. Many fans speculated that the scene in the trailer of Thor raising his hand followed by lightning striking is him lifting the newly forged weapon. It was likely digitally removed to save the movie reveal.
6 Thanos Gets Reality Stone First
The trailers for Avengers: Infinity War should be taken with as many grains of salt as these toys are. After seeing the bait and switch they pulled with the Thor: Ragnarok trailers, it’s easy to assume that they’re doing the same thing with Avengers: Infinity War. Many people are getting hung up on what stones Thanos has in his gauntlet during each of the scenes in the movie. It seems that you’re better off not speculating considering Marvel probably manipulated the footage by adding or deleting them digitally. This Lego set, however, shows that Thanos gets the Reality Stone first. This is probably accurate considering he could have paid the Collector a visit before running into Thor and company at the end of Thor: Ragnarok. Who knows though, Marvel is untrustworthy.
