After years of nothing but a cryptic announcement teaser, Marvel’s Avengers hit the press circuit hard this summer and revealed its first major footage and details. The E3 2019 Avengers gameplay demo teased some intense combat with each of the core team and the follow discussions and interviews answered some questions about the game’s single and multiplayer options.

Some of those follow up discussions touched on how customization will work in Marvel’s Avengers. It’s no surprise that variant costumes and gear are going to be a major driving force to keep players grinding through the game (or potentially spending money in it). Even though the Avengers alternate costumes are purely aesthetic, comic book and video game fans are sure to want to collect as many as possible for whichever heroes they end up playing most often.

Although the majority of the alternate costumes are still a mystery, a few were teased during a Comic-Con panel and some low-res images are now available online. Although most of these costumes are brand new to fans who didn’t attend Comic-Con, the Captain America and Hulk variants have been teased on the game’s official Twitter account.

A closer (and much higher resolution) look at the Captain America Secret Empire costume and Hulk in a suit can be found in the following videos, as well…

It’s very exciting to see how each alternate costume is closely referencing specific comic book lines. As more alternate costumes are revealed, it will be interesting to see if the inspiration will also break out of comics and potentially reference other comic book movies, cartoons, shows, or games. There’s plenty of material to draw inspiration from, so we expect to see tons of alternate costumes throughout the game’s first year.

Be sure to check back in the coming months for more Marvel’s Avengers news, updates, and strategy guides. Until then, Avengers Assemble!
