Tactical RPG Marvel’s Midnight Suns has been delayed out of its planned March launch into the second half of 2022.

The delay was announced by the game’s creative director Jake Solomon and senior franchise producer Garth DeAngelis. “Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a true dream project for the team and we can’t express what an honor it is to create something new in the Marvel universe.”

“We decided to share that we’ve made the very tough decision to move our launch window to the second half of 2022. We know many fans were looking forward to playing the game originally next spring, and this decision did not come lightly. We decided to push our launch because we need more time to make this the best game possible”. The statement also added “these extra months will be used to add more story, cinematics and overall polish and will be essential in helping us make our vision a reality.”

The game was first revealed back in August, and will players take control of the titular Midnight Suns. While the group includes comic book favourites like Blade and Wolverine, the main character will be The Hunter who’s Marvel’s first customisable character.

There’s no specific new window for the game’s release yet. Marvel’s Midnight Suns is hoping to drop on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC in the latter half of 2022.
