Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order was released on July 19th, riding on the same hype train that has been chugging along with the incredible ending of Avengers Endgame and the fantastic follow-up Spiderman: Far From Home. Much t players’ excitement, the game’s story had them pitted them against Thanos and his army, The Black Order. This time, instead of a small team of ragged Avengers, they had access to nearly the entire Marvel universe to take on the Mad Titan. However, you’ve gone through the story; now what? Well, here are ten things still left for you to do after you’ve beaten the game.
10 Play The Next Difficulty Up
Once you beat the standard difficulty, one of the most logical things to do next is to move on to the next one, Mighty Difficulty. After you beat this, you can move up to Superior Difficulty.
Each new difficulty level will challenge you as enemies get more numerous and tougher to beat. The bosses get more health and hit harder. It’ll take strategy, quick thinking and proper team composition to get through these difficulties. In addition, while you’re playing through twice more, you’ll have all the opportunities needed to get some of the other things on this list accomplished.
9 Max Out Your Characters
If you’re looking for a goal to reach while you are playing through the other difficulties, why not try to max out all of your heroes? With the Team Enhancements and plenty of bad guys to fight, you’ll have all the experience points and fodder you need to raise all your characters to max level.
This could prove important to taking on some of the other tasks listed here. If you are going to fully conquer Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, you’ll need a variety of team compositions and it’ll be helpful for all your characters to be maxed out or at the very least, the same level.
8 Max Out Your ISO-8 Crystals
The ISO-8 Crystals are an all too necessary resource if you want to have a powerful team capable of plowing through enemies, obstacles, and bosses. The ISO-8 crystals come in seven colors and each one provides a different bonus. Four of the crystals can be put on a single character, thus allowing you to shore up a hero’s shortcomings.
Red boosts health and critical hits, purple boosts strength and attack, blue boosts Extreme and energy, green boost durability, yellow boosts resilience, orange boosts mastery and staggering, and white boosts how many credits you collect as well as granting better survivability.
7 Max Out Your Powers
You might have noticed a theme in these last few sections: Grow your power! It only makes sense after all. Once you beat the game, why not take your band of heroes to their highest extremes and max out everything you can? If the Alliance Power-up Tree seems sprawling and confusing, it is. In fact, many reviews have suggested not really bothering with it until your later playthroughs where you’ll actually need it.
There are plenty of guides out there to help you navigate the bewildering nexus of hexagons and points, so don’t lose hope and press forward. If you want your characters to be butt-kicking machines, you’ll need to master the Alliance Power-up Tree.
6 Collect All The Costumes
All of the heroes in Marvel Ultimate Alliance: The Black Order have a long, long legacy of comic books behind them. These comic books have been going for decades and have cycled through countless storylines, universes, and artists. With each of these factors, the heroes in the comic books received appearance and costume changes. With all changes, some of these are not well-regarded but there are some that are fan-favorites.
You can find some of these fan-favorites in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 through playing the story and others can be unlocked by completing the infinity trails. There are costumes ranging all the way from the beginning of these heroes’ careers, and some of them come from more recent depictions.
5 Experiment With Different Teams
Now that you’ve completed the main story, upgrade your heroes and their powers, and maybe found a few different costumes for your squad, why not fool around a bit and experiment with putting different teams together? Everyone has their favorite heroes and tend to build teams based on that. However, your favorite might not have good synergy and thus might not work quite so well together with others. So, don’t be afraid to try out different heroes and their own abilities. Not to mention, many of the classic hero teams we know and love, like the Avengers, for example, have had a varied and fluid roster over the years. It could be quite fun to take on the villains of the present with a hero team of the past.
4 Unlock All of the Infinity Rifts
You’ve powered up your heroes, you’ve found some great team combinations, so now what are you supposed to do? Well, go for absolute conquest by discovering all of the infinity rifts!
There are eight smaller rifts hidden throughout the actual game and as you go through the Mighty and Superior difficulty settings, you’ll unlock two more. Simply unlocking the rifts will give you access to even more fun stuff to do and benefits as well. Some of the costumes must be unlocked by going through the rifts and materials to upgrade your ISO-8 crystals can also be found there as well.
3 Unlock All of the Secret Characters
If you thought you were done after unlocking the 36 character roster for this game, think again! There are actually more to find!
Four more characters are locked behind the top of four of the many infinity rift challenges. You’ll have to fight your way up the ladders and through many different challenges with their own special stipulations. At the top, will be your reward! Each of the characters you unlock will join your crew at a certain level so that is a bit annoying but if you’ve been keeping up with your upgrades and supplies, you’ll bring these new recruits up to scratch in no time.
2 Get Three Stars On All of the Infinity Rift Challenges
Many gamers are completionists; people who set out to get 100 percent completion on any game they pick up. This means beating every mission, finding every collectible, unlocking everything and personally visiting every nook and cranny on the map. If you fit this description, then there is quite a lofty goal for you to pursue. Each rift challenge has its own stipulations and win conditions to make them more challenging. How well you do will reward you with between one to three stars once the dust settles. Getting all three stars on all of the challenges is just the sort of challenge every completionist craves.
1 Play With Your Friends!
So you’ve done it all. You’ve gotten all of the costumes, all of the characters, everyone and everything has been leveled up to its maximum. You might think that you can finally put this game up on the shelf and move on to the next. While this might be true for the most part, there is still plenty of fun to be had. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order has full multiplayer support. Every member of your four hero team can be fully controlled by one of your friends. Together, you can form a powerful team and play through the story and infinity rift challenges together, able to actually strategize and work together rather than having to deal with three AIs.
