Electronic Arts has announced plans to expand the multiplayer experience in Medal of Honor. On November 2nd, gamers will be able to test their skills in a new free elimination mode called “Clean Sweep.”

In the new multiplayer mode “Clean Sweep,” players will participate in a Team Deathmatch style game with no respawns. The skill and teamwork will be required to survive and claim victory over your foes. Gamers will be able to test this new mode on two all-new maps that are included free in this batch of downloadable content, Bagram Hangar and Khyber Caves.

Also for those owners of Medal of Honor with the Online Pass, “Clean Sweep” will also be playable on two redesigned versions of two maps, Diwagal Camp and Kabul City Ruins.

Frank Gibeau, President at EA, proud of the game selling over 1.5 million units in its first 5 days of release, expresses his feelings about the franchise’s return.

It is always good to see companies supporting their games with post-release downloadable content. It is even better when the content offered to players is free of charge to extend gameplay for the loyal players. “Clean Sweep” will add depth to the multiplayer experience and EA must take full advantage of the time it has before the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops, which already has a lot of buzz attached to its innovative multiplayer. This is very much an ultra competitive genre and packing first person shooters with as many options and modes as possible is paramount.

“Medal of Honor is one of EA’s most storied franchises and we’re thrilled to see that fans worldwide have embraced it. In this ultra competitive category, Medal of Honor stands out from the pack. By portraying the Tier 1 Operator as so elite, so tough, Medal of Honor offers a view into a world that has the power to resonate with FPS gamers everywhere.”

The “Clean Sweep” DLC will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network on November 2, 2010 for free for owners of the game with the Online Pass, enclosed in each new, full release of Medal of Honor.
