Metroid Dread Abilities Guide

The Wide Beam Abilities in Metroid Dread

The Wide Beam is one of the most important and popular abilities. With it, you will be able to shoot three shots at once instead of the usual one shot. This obviously results in a greater output of damage, while also allowing you to be able to move Wide Beam Covers and Wide Beam Boxes. In order to activate the Wide Beam ability in Metroid Dread, all you need to do is press the Y button.

You can find the Wide Beam ability towards the center of Dairon once you switch on the power.

The Charge Beam

This is one of the first abilities you will come across when you play Metroid Dread, so you should look out for it when you start out. With the Charge Beam, you will be able to use your arm cannon to charge a shot. This helps in dealing with extra damage. This particular feature makes the Charge Beam a rather potent ability, especially when you come across a large number of opponents that are fully armored. Just like the Wide Beam, this particular ability can be activated with the help of the Y button. Once you do so, make sure to leave the button as soon as the beam begins to flash.

As for finding the Charge Beam, you need to head towards the bottom of Artaria. From there, move downwards on the left side, and into the cave. Here, you will find the beam along with a Chozo statue.
