Today, following the news regarding the acquisition of Activision, Blizzard, and King, Microsoft hosted a livestreamed conference for investors.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, CFO Amy Hood, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer, and Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick offered more colors and details about the deal and the reasons behind it.

Nadella started by confirming the rumored $68.7 billion price for the deal. He also explained the importance of gaming and of the acquisition for Microsoft.

Next came Kotick, who explained the reasons why Activision decided to sell and talked more about the opportunities opened by the deal.

Phil Spencer also talked about the future of Activision with Microsoft, mentioning that the deal isn’t just about short-term gains. He has seen what the publisher has in the pipeline and is “incredibly enthusiastic about what the teams are creating and the company’s pipeline over many years to come.”
