Today Microsoft released another of its major World Updates for Microsoft Flight Simulator, focusing on Australia.
The update requires three separate downloads on PC (and of course, it’s also available on Xbox). A small 500 MB update on the Windows Store or Steam is the first step, followed by a 1.88 GB update within the sim. Lastly, to get all the goodies, you’ll need an optional download from the in-sim marketplace which weighs 2.51 GB.
The update enriches the scenery in Australia considerably, and you can read the full patch notes here.
You can find a full list of features and a trailer below. Incidentally, we recently learned that the next world update in March will feature Spain and Portugal.

Various liveries are included, like Southern Cross, which accomplished the first trans-pacific flight from California to Australia, Friendship, which crossed the Atlantic Ocean with Amelia Earhart as a passenger, Josephine Ford, which flew to the North Pole, and a KLM aircraft that did the first flight ever from the Netherlands to the Dutch East Indies.
