It looks like Microsoft Game Studios is trying to spread some holiday cheer by spreading around some Microsoft Points. All Xbox Live users have to do is download the Microsoft Game Studios Offer gamerpic and spend 1600 MS Points on certain games and add-ons from now until Novemeber 22, and they’ll be rewarded with 400 MS space-bucks (or $5) to spend however they want.

This may be the shortest holiday offer of the season, given that it ends in just four days. Still, five dollars back for spending twenty? Not too bad as long as the items to choose from are any good. And as it turns out, the list of eligible items is pretty solid. Have a look.

Xbox Live Arcade Games:

  • Splosion Man South Park UNO Rush Perfect Dark Snoopy Flying Ace Defense Grid Magic the Gathering Banjo Kazooie Banjo Tooie Ikaruga Fable II Pub Games Braid A Kingdom for Keflings Rez HD The Maw Scrap Metal Alien Breed Episode 1 Alien Breed Episode 2 The Dishwasher Dead Samurai Duke Nukem 3D N+

Game Add-ons:

  • Forza Motorsport 3 Mass Effect Fable II Halo 3 Halo Wars Gears of War 2 Alan Wake LIPS Crackdown Crackdown 2 Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Scene It

Avatar Gear:

  • Halo Reach Halo 3: ODST Halo 3 Gears of War 2 Gears of War 3 Crackdown 2 Fable II Fable III Perfect Dark Toy Soldiers

While there may not be a ton of new games on that list, there are certainly some heavy-hitters in terms of quality. Critical darlings like Splosion Man and Braid as well as cult favorites like Rez HD, Ikaruga and Perfect Dark would make great additions to anyone’s digital collection. Not to mention that with many of these games priced at 800 MS Points, hitting the 1600 mark with a couple games should be no problem.

Does this deal get you Ranters feeling spendy? Any must-haves that you’ve just been waiting for a good reason to buy on the list? Does five bucks back seem like a good deal? Do you need a MS fun dollars conversion chart to verify the savings?

Whatever you decide, just remember that the Microsoft Game Studios Holiday Offer runs until next Wednesday. So no dawdling.
