E3 is almost upon us, and Xbox’s Phil Spencer has given us a brief tease as to what we can expect from this year’s Microsoft conference, with 14 Xbox Games Studio titles promised to be showcased at the event.

Speaking on Twitter, Spencer said that the number is ‘most first party games than we’ve ever had in the show’ so it definitely seems to be addressing recent critcism that the big green brand has had a lack of exclusives as of late.

We’ll find out for sure on June 9 at 9pm BST. Will we see any of that long rumoured new Xbox hardware? Perhaps – Microsoft do have an advantage this time around, as it won’t be going up against Sony given they’re missing E3 this year.

Details as to which games these will be are understandably under wraps for now, but we know Gears 5 will be making an appearance, and Age of Empires Enhanced Edition Trilogy was revealed during yesterday’s announcement of the Xbox Games Pass for PC. Halo Master Chief Collection for PC is surely a shoe-in too.

Just finishing our final E3 rehearsal here with the team in Redmond. Feel really good about the briefing. Lots to show. We have 14 Xbox Game Studios games in the show this year, more first party games than we’ve ever had in the show. Fun times. #XboxE3
