Microsoft may have plenty of exclusive “premieres” lined up for E3, but it’s also “saving a lot of exciting reveals for Gamescom”, the platform holder has said.

The company teased its plans for this August’s show while discussing plans for E3, where it says it’ll reveal “in-depth looks at previously-announced games” and “trailers for our unannounced titles coming in 2015 and beyond”.

“This year, we have an amazing games lineup to share,” Microsoft said, “(who knew it’d be so hard to pack all of our exclusive E3 premieres into an hour and a half?), so we’re saving a lot of exciting reveals for gamescom in August. It’s already shaping up to be a great year.”

Microsoft’s comments follow one week after Sony revealed that it would not be holding a press conference at this August’s Gamescom, the first time it’s chosen not to do so since the event’s debut in 2009.

Microsoft’s E3 press conference begins at 5:30pm BST on Monday, June 12, with Sony’s expected to follow in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
