Hard on the heels of the last bans in Pioneer, Wizards has announced yet another. Although it warned everyone that it would be “banning cards on off-cycle dates,” Pioneer seems to be on track to getting a new ban once a week. Today, Wizards announced that a popular green instant from Core 2020 would be banned: Veil of Summer. Pioneer is a new, non-rotating format similar to Modern or Extended. It is cards from standard sets going back to Return to Ravnica, which was released in 2012....

Ubisoft has announced Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, the sequel to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. During the Ubisoft Forward showcase, the announcement included a trailer, showing off its Super Mario Galaxy touches. Mass Effect: Andromeda will now release early in 2017, BioWare has announced. “As we’ve been playing the game at the studio recently, it’s showing us that we’re taking the game in the right direction. But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be – that’s our commitment from all of us to all of you,” wrote Aaryn Flynn, general manager of BioWare....

BioWare has released a new patch for Mass Effect: Andromeda. Update 1.10 comes in at just over 1GB in size and focuses on the RPG’s multiplayer mode, fixing some bugs and making some more small tweaks to the overall gameplay experience. There’ve been changes made to veteran ranks, meaning characters ranks will only drop after all characters of that rarity have been unlocked to rank 10. There are quite a few bugs which this update resolves, including an issue that caused screen to blink red/yellow when using Siphon and Bulwark weapons....

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen died on October 16 due to complications stemming from non-Hodgkins lymphoma. It was a disease that the software engineer turned billionaire philanthropist had contended with for several years. Allen revealed two weeks prior that, even though he had undergone treatment, the disease had relapsed. Although he and his doctors were initially optimistic about the treatment, it was too late. As analysts, developers and gamers all look towards E3 and what revelations will arise during Nintendo’s unveiling of the Wii 2, more eyes are beginning to stare at Microsoft as well.
