The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (2019) is certainly not a bad remake. It modernizes a Game Boy classic in a way that doesn’t compromise the 1993 original’s identity. Mario Golf will be the next N64 game to hit Nintendo Switch Online. As revealed in a tweet from Nintendo, it will tee off from the service on 15th April. Originally released in 1999, this was the first instalment in Camelot’s Mario Golf series and is considered the first modern Mario sports game, with a Game Boy Colour counterpart later that year. Marvel’s Midnight Suns has just been age-rated in South Korea. The age classification - deliberated on 13th May and published on Friday - suggests the tactical card-battle RPG may be coming to PC, Switch, and PlayStation and Xbox consoles sooner than expected. As spotted by a members of r/LeaksandRumours, the RPG has been awarded a 15 rating, the description for which explains how Marvel’s Midnight Suns will take on the Hydra in a game....

Kalypso Media has announced that tennis sim Matchpoint – Tennis Championships will now launch on July 7, 2022. The publisher also revealed thanks to a new trailer that the game will also be launching on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass from Day One. If you missed the original announcement, Matchpoint promises to offer an authentic take on the sport. You’ll be able to take part in a whopping 65 tournaments across 26 stadiums....

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain sold 293,652 copies on PS4 and 117,547 copies on PS3 in Japan over its launch week, data published by Media Create has revealed. This compares to 465,000 copies of Metal Gear Solid 4 back in 2008, and more recently 308,681 copies of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on PS3 in February 2013. Last year’s Ground Zeroes managed 119,615 copies on PS3 and 91,821 copies on PS4....

Injustice 2’s has revealed a brand new DLC character who’ll be ‘coming soon’ to NetherRealm’s heroes and villains brawler. The Atom, civilian name Ryan Choi, has the power of quantum shrinking technology, so he can sometimes be very big and sometimes be very tiny. This results in his gameplay trailer being really funny, because when he throws or punches people when he’s really tiny, what you see is the Flash being chucked around by a little point of blue light....

Chucklfish has plenty of projects in the works. The Stardew Valley publisher deals in polished, pixel-based games. Their newest project, Inmost is no different. It’s a puzzle-platformer that takes visual inspiration from a bygone era. Inmost looks like a long-lost Game Boy title, and that’s enough to make it worth keeping an eye on. A new interview with Innersloth co-founder Marcus Bromander reveals just how close the team came to moving on from Among Us. Bromander guested on the podcast Visionaries to discuss Among Us’ rise in popularity, the impact it had on Innersloth, and what the company’s next plans are. Among Us first released in 2018 but didn’t see mainstream popularity until 2020. During that time, Bromander stated that he, along with fellow co-founder Forrest Willard and mutual friend Amy Liu, were working full-time on Among Us....
