Metal Gear Solid fans are used to sitting around waiting. I mean, some of those cutscenes in Guns of the Patriot in particular took ages; you could probably grow a beard during Big Boss’s epic speech. Hell, even Solid Snake has that famous ‘kept you waiting, huh?’ quote going on. The same can be said about the Metal Gear Solid movie, which has been in the works for years now and yet we haven’t really heard all that much about it....

Today third-party developers revealed new images of upcoming airport scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator, on top of releasing another. We start with Skyline Simulations, which showcased new images of the runway and aprons of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (KCVG) in the United States. Next is a look at what’s in the works at Drzewiecki Design. The first batch of images shows buildings made for Renton Municipal Airport (KRNT) in the United States and the attached Boeing factory....

The world of video gaming owes a great deal to tabletop RPGs, as many early games attempted to recreate the experience of playing Dungeons & Dragons on the screen. The realm of dice, graph paper, maps, and minis was a major inspiration for many aspects of gaming and there are several prominent series that owe their existence to tabletop RPGs, such as Final Fantasy and Ultima. There have been many video games based on the settings of famous tabletop RPGs, such as the Baldur’s Gate series and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, but few games have attempted to copy the experience of actually playing a tabletop RPG....

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be the last game created by Nintendo for Wii U, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed. “From a first-party standpoint, there’s no new development coming after the launch of the legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” he told Polygon. “We really are at the end of life for Wii U.” However, Nintendo isn’t planning to shut down the Wii U’s online services just yet....

There’s nothing more terrifying than technology, at least not according to Brian Cranst, the man behind upcoming indie game Terror Tec, a game about the terrifying nature of technology. Described by Cranst as a “unique rogue-like RTS with first person elements and trucks”, Terror Tec promises to explore the horror behind man’s greatest creations, as players use their cunning and skill to fend off humanity’s grandest achievements of the 20th century....

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s campaign will be a single-player only experience and will not support co-op, Activision has confirmed to VideoGamer.com. Instead, co-op will be limited to the game’s Zombies mode. Confirmation means that the 4-player campaign co-op introduced in last year’s Black Ops 3 will not be returning for this year’s Call of Duty. It isn’t clear whether campaign co-op will return in future games. Infinite Warfare’s campaign sees players jetting off into the stars for the first time in the franchise’s history, with air and space combat said to be a “key aspect”....

Horror deck-builder Inscryption is heading to PlayStation with some exclusive features. The game mixes elements of psychological horror with deck-building roguelike gameplay and puzzle elements, and was nominated at the BAFTAs earlier this year. It’s already available on PC but will come to PlayStation with extra controller features, though there’s no release date yet. Your stoat companion will play audio from the controller, atmospheric lighting will “spill out”, and there will be haptic feedback to enhance “every grisly action”....

Back in February, DC Comics and IDW announced Locke & Key: Hell and Gone, a crossover publishing event bringing together the worlds of the former’s classic Sandman comics and the latter’s award-winning Locke & Key series. The Locke & Key comics team, writer Joe Hill and artist Gabriel Rodriguez, were slated to do the same for the new book, which was initially set to premiere this October. “For years, we’ve been talking about doing a Locke & Key/Sandman crossover, and we’re finally doing it,” says Hill on Friday (June 19) when we catch up with him about the new season of NOS4A2....

Developer Casey Donnellan Games and publisher tinyBuild have revealed Kill It With Fire, a first-person action game about removing spiders from a house… at any cost. Me? I don’t find spiders scary at all, and one time, I hadn’t noticed that there was a wild tarantula with her eggs on a leaf… right next to my face. I suppose Kill It With Fire will satisfy those with a weaker constitution. The game tasks the player with the identification and eradication of a spider(s) in the house....

With Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind officially released for PS4, players have quickly begun digging through and finding every secret and boss in the DLC. One change that came with the release of Re:Mind, however, can be accessed in the very beginning of the game, long before accessing the bonus content that the DLC delivers. The new addition can ease player’s travels through the base Kingdom Hearts 3 as well as in the challenging Limitcut Episode and Secret Boss at the end of the DLC....

Last April, Kingdom Hearts 3 director Tetsuya Nomura revealed in a concert featuring the game’s soundtrack that a DLC for Kingdom Hearts 3 is in the works, called Re Mind. Nomura said that the expansion will be a paid one, and it will include a new scenario. Keeping its promise that a new Re Mind trailer will release today, Square Enix just dropped a new preview trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3’s upcoming expansion....

Nintendo has announced that it will launch fresh characters for Mario Tennis Aces after launch, including Koopa Troopa and Blooper. While both characters will be free to download, there is a catch : You can only get them early if you take part in Mario Tennis Aces’ online tournaments. Koopa Troopa will be up for grabs from August 1, though you can gain early access from July if you give it your best in the online tournaments....

In the new comedy-drama Late Night, Emma Thompson plays Katherine Newbury, the acerbic British host of a long-running US talk show, whose sign-off line is “I hope I’ve earned the privilege of your time”. The script comes from Kaling, who also co-stars as the show’s new, full-of-beans “diversity hire”, and it’s equally sincere as that sign-off, if not quite as stuffy. Directed by Transparent‘s Nisha Ganatra, the film explores what happens after Molly Patel ascends from her role as the quality control assessor at a chemical plant in Pennsylvania to become the newbie in an otherwise all-male writers’ room....

Left 4 Dead fans, this one’s for you. If you haven’t heard of Back 4 Blood yet, pay close attention. The game, from Left 4 Dead developer Turtle Rock Studios was originally revealed at The Game Awards this past December. Since then, sparse news has come out about the game, save for some yesterday. Turtle Rock announced that the game would be pushed back from its June 22 release date to this coming Fall....

Valve has released patch notes for the Steam Deck’s latest update, which include the very welcome addition of game-specific performance settings. To access this new feature, users must simply hop into their deck’s ‘quick access menu’, and then select the ‘performance’ option. From here, click into ‘advanced view’. When the per game settings are then toggled to the ‘on’ option, a “profile for the currently running title is created.” Once you have edited the settings in this profile to your liking, they will be saved and applied automatically when you launch said game....
