Fans of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man received some terrible news on Tuesday after it was announced that Sony and Disney failed to agree on continuing their joint production for future Spider-Man movies in the MCU - and some fans seem to be taking it a bit harder than others. After Disney reportedly asked for a bigger piece of the Spidey pie, Sony backed out of the deal and negotiations ended. In reaction to the news, many people took to Twitter to claim that they would boycott Sony products, with some going as far as to say they’ll stop playing their PS4....

The Marvel’s Avengers team has revealed that Hawkeye will be added to the game as a post-launch DLC character. Based on what we learned during the latest Avengers livestream, and the recently released Hawkeye trailer, it seems that the Marvel’s Avengers version of Hawkeye will be relatively familiar to anyone who has enjoyed (or, let’s be honest, not enjoyed) the character over the years. He comes equipped with his trademark bow and various arrows that will allow him to effectively deal with different kinds of enemies....

Today third-party Microsoft Flight Simulator add-on developers had reveals and releases to share across a wide range of products. We start with Ouroboros, which provided an extensive development update about its freeware Embraer E170-100. This includes videos and screenshots. Microsoft Flight Simulator has a whole, beautiful world to explore, but most aircraft may not as be slow enough to catch all the details. The good folks at Hype Performance Group, whom you may know for their Airbus H145 helicopter, have decided to fill this gap by releasing a fully functional hot air balloon. The vehicle will release on Friday, October 7, and it’ll cost $15. At the moment, it’ll launch only for PC on Hype Performance Group’s own website, and an Xbox Version has not been announced....

I reviewed Imperator: Rome back in April. Let’s just say that I felt quite underwhelmed. I noted that Paradox’s latest grand strategy game “wore the trappings of Marcus Aurelius,” but, the more you played, the more you’d realize that it’s more “akin to Commodus” instead. Still, Paradox remains hard at work in improving player experience. The previous Demetrius patch improved Imperator: Rome’s optimization and speed. Now, the Pompey patch which updates Imperator: Rome to version 1....

When it comes to throwback FPS games made by a single person, the bar is surprisingly high. Mostly because of the guy that made Dusk, though. Incision is another such FPS with a pretty nasty twist that you could love, or it’ll turn you off the game completely. It just entered Early Access with its first episode available. It’s supposed to spend six to 12 months in Early Access, so there’s still a ways to go....

People who have been paying attention to blockbuster game development recently will already be aware that large-scale world-building has become a major factor when determining bankability. Give us big, give us loud, and give us gore if nothing else. With Resistance 3 set to provide all that and more, Insomniac Games is going on the record with a video of the developers detailing their thoughts on the project, and decisions that they have made which they feel will improve the game as a whole....

When it comes to rogue-lite FPS games, I’m in rough shape. Honestly, I can never come close to beating them. Into the Pit isn’t necessarily a rogue-lite, but it does take a great many cues from them. Despite this, I only died a single time. It’s got some creative, well-implemented ideas, but it doesn’t take long for the game to completely give up on adding new things into the mix. There’s enjoyment to be had, but this is a deeply repetitive, insanely easy game that stops spicing things up well before its conclusion....

I don’t think I need to remind you that the first season of Iron Fist wasn’t particularly well-received by critics, well-loved by fans, or, well, very good. But the show has made a showrunner change (from Scott Buck to Raven Metzner), and the rehabilitation of Danny “I’m the immortal Iron Fist” Rand began almost immediately with The Defenders, and continued with a downright fun guest spot on Luke Cage Season 2....

Halo: Infinite is the sixth main installment in Microsoft’s flagship first-person shooter franchise. Released for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC in Dec. 2021, it promised to be a “soft reboot” of the franchise after the disappointment of 2015’s Halo 5: Guardians. Between offering its multiplayer as a free-to-play option and major campaign improvements, Halo: Infinite brings the series closer to its peak than 343’s previous attempt did. Some may wonder if Halo: Infinite offers an open world, or more linear, level-based gameplay....

Through the first 17 or so minutes (this is actually a relatively long episode of It’s Always Sunny at around 24 minutes), “The Gang Gets New Wheels” threatens to be the rare bad episode in the It’s Always Sunny canon....

Jordan Vogt-Roberts may be busy hammering away on the movie adaptation of Metal Gear Solid, but he’s already musing a hypothetical film based on the Metroid franchise. Apparently, it’ll never get made as it’s ’too crazy.' In case you aren’t aware, Vogt-Roberts is a massive video game aficionado, and his movie Kong: Skull Island contains more than its fair share of gaming nods. Just as well too, as if you’re making a game about Metal Gear, you really need to know your stuff....

Despite a massive drop in player numbers, Marvel’s Avengers is still trucking along. Last month it was announced that the next batch of DLC, originally slated for November, would have a slight delay. Turns out it was very slight as today it was announced that the first part of Marvel’s Avengers post game DLC will launch next month — Kate Bishop. Post game content for Marvel’s Avengers will work like episodes of a TV show, or issues of a comic....

L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files has been expected to get a release on PlayStation 4 for some time now, but with no actual release date reported. Now the mystery–and the wait–is over, because Sony broke the news that L.A. Noire VR has been surprise-launched as of right now! The news came from today’s State of Play livestream from Sony, alongside reports about The Last of Us: Part 2, Civilization 6, and more....

For those that prefer gaming on the go, Valve’s Steam Deck has certainly become a viable and dependable option. Despite the initial stock issues, though, those that have gotten theirs can enjoy the likes of No Man’s Sky, Elden Ring, and even the Xbox Cloud Gaming service on it. And with Valve supporting the portable with updates, the future looks good, and it’s gotten even better with the latest Steam Deck client update....

SK Telecom 1 has announced it will be entering the Dota 2 competitive scene. So far, the only confirmed roster member is Lee “Forev” Sang-don. The organization is best known for its League of Legends team, although the team also competes in Fortnite, PUBG, Apex Legends, Smash Ultimate, and Hearthstone. The team has a proven track record for success in League of Legends, so picking up another MOBA seems like a good fit....

Game Freak’s Little Town Hero has received brand new gameplay footage that shows off its environments, characters, and its interesting combat system (via games radar). The art style is simply spellbinding, and the score has been produced by Toby Fox and Hitomi Sato, the composers behind Undertale and the Pokémon series soundtracks. As a turn-based RPG, Little Town Hero is standard form for the developer, but the way its battle mechanics were described was quite the head scratcher....
