But a study is now here to prove it: commissioned by Roblox, the MMO and game creation system platform that owes most of its popularity to children, only 26% of teenaged respondents said they’d tell their parents if they had any online issues, such as bullying, while 91% of parents believe their kids would come to them....

Konami aims to collaborate with Western developers to publish indie games and boost its own portfolio with “things that perhaps [are] new to Konami—Western titles for Western audiences.” (via Destructoid). Richard Jones, senior European brand and business development manager at Konami, revealed the company’s ambition in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz. “Obviously everyone knows Konami, we have studios and teams in Japan, we have many well-known, well-loved IPs,” he said. “They’re all being managed and looked after by our studios in Japan, and what we’re looking for is complementary titles, to build the portfolio with things that perhaps [are] new to Konami—Western titles for Western audiences....

Lawn Mowing Simulator released about three months ago, bringing with it hours of, uh, lawn mowing. The base game has 31 different maps to mow, which made for a respectable amount of content. The first piece of Lawn Mowing Simulator DLC, Ancient Britain, adds four more maps on top of that. What’s more, they come with a special focus. As someone who enjoyed the base game, I was curious to see what these new maps offered and what they would mean for the game going forward....

Riot Games has launched a beta for its new online collectible card game (CCG), League of Runeterra, and a few lucky players have been granted access into the early version of the game. Fans of other CCG or Trading Card Games (TCGs) will feel right at home with familiar mechanics, but there is also innovation in the design choices made that make the entire game feel fresh and exiting. When I think of Lego today - the toy itself, as well as its many video game versions - it’s easy to get distracted by the decades of licensed properties now immortalised in plastic bricks. I think of building my Lego NES console, or the looming Lord of the Rings Tower of Orthanc which sits next to my telly. Valve has announced a “ground-breaking partnership” with Lionsgate which sees films from the studio available to buy or rent via the Steam client. At launch more than 100 Lionsgate feature films will be available to Steam customers, including movies from the Hunger Games, Twilight, Saw and Divergent franchises. Most exciting, however, is the availability of cult favourite Leprechaun, which gave Freinds’ star Jennifer Aniston her first movie role alongside a deadly Leprechaun played by Star Wars, Harry Potter and Willow actor Warwick Davis....

Late last night, Warner Bros. announced that it had officially locked down Peacemaker actor John Cena to star in its live-action/CG hybrid comedy feature, Coyote Vs. Acme. Directorial duties will be handled by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows director Dave Green, while Samy Birch is attached to write the screenplay. Interestingly, said screenplay will be an adaptation of a humorous New Yorker article of the same name by Ian Frazier....

Steam versions of various recent Ubisoft games appear to be on the way, according to datamined store details which have popped up online. Earlier this month, a Steam version of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was spotted in Ubisoft Connect’s database, prompting speculation the smash hit Viking adventure would finally arrive on Valve’s PC storefront. To date, PC players have only been able to access Valhalla via Ubisoft’s own launcher or the Epic Games Store....

I’m always willing to give a game a second look, especially if the game is adding a much-needed gameplay update or some new mechanic that makes the game worth checking out again. Mable & The Wood fits that description, as the quirky Metroidvania title is now available on the Nintendo Switch. Although my original review of the PC version didn’t quite live up to my expectations, Mable & The Wood on the Switch is much more enjoyable, with the Joy-Con’s control scheme feeling far superior than that of a keyboard....

Nintendo’s announced a free limited-time First Kick demo for upcoming sports title Mario Strikers: Battle League Football. Anyone with an active Nintendo Switch Online membership can try out the game’s online multiplayer next weekend. There’ll be six one hour sessions taking place across both Saturday June 4 and Sunday, June 5. Players will be able to play as many sessions as they can squeeze in those one-hour windows. You’ll be able to go online solo, or recruit one friend to team up with locally on the same console....

Microsoft has bolstered its Xbox One backwards compatibility lineup today with two new games: Mafia II and Prey. Both Xbox 360 games are now fully playable on Microsoft’s bulky telly box, so if you have them on disc simply pop it into your Xbox One and start playing. On the other hand, if you have a digital copy stored in the vaults somewhere, it will appear in the ‘Ready to Download’ section of the My Games tab....

Today was a rather intense day for Microsoft Flight Simulator news, with several developers opening the floodgates of assets and info about upcoming aircraft and more. We start with PMDG, which released the first video footage of its upcoming Boeing 737 in a new trailer. We also got a development update from CEO Robert Randazzo. Another video came from Digital Flight Dynamics, which showcased its Airbus A350, which will be freeware and open-source....

Microsoft has apparently issued a survey to a small number of Xbox Series X|S owners to ask them their opinions on next generation controller features on Xbox, for example those found on the PlayStation 5’s DualSense. As originally reported by TechRadar, the survey asks if users are ““aware of features on PlayStation controllers that I wish were on the controller that came with this console” and how much they agree or disagree with the statement....
