Konami is back with another announcement you probably didn’t want to hear. This time around Konami has decided to get involved with Web3 and the Metaverse. The Metal Gear publisher posted a news release on its website detailing plans to recruit talent. The news release explains that Konami wants to launch a service where players can trade in-game NFTs. This would be done through a unique distribution platform that takes advantage of blockchain technology....

Today Type-moon released a new TV commercial for the upcoming remaster of the Legendary Visual Novel Mahoutsukai no Yoru. While the commercial is fairly short, as usual for TV commercials, it does provide a glimpse to the cast of main characters that we’ll meet in the game. In case you’ve missed the news, Mahoutsukai no Yoru will release on December 8, 2022, and we already know that the game will include English text support, which is decidedly a refreshing change for fans of Type-Moon games....

Those in the market for a good beard that isn’t strapped to the face of Kratos have something new to look forward to; Life is Strange and Vampyr developer Dontnod has unveiled Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, coming to PC and current-gen consoles next year. Banishers, an action-RPG set in the frozen wilderness of North America circa 1695, follows the story of Antea Duarte and Red mac Rait - a pair of ghost hunters (and lovers) working to protect the living from the spectral dead....

Arguably one of the best shows on television right now, Killing Eve‘s third season deserves a lot more praise than it got. “Superb, stylish, and tragically beautiful are just a few words to describe Killing Eve as a whole, though the third season of this BBC hit, in particular, was especially brilliant, despite what the many negative reviews written by cis male critics say. Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Fiona Shaw, Kim Bodnia, and the rest of the cast delivered stellar performances, as usual, but it wasn’t simply the performances that tied the season together—it was also the character development throughout....

EA Sports has released Madden 23 onto multiple platforms. The new American football video game is another great addition to the long-running Madden NFL series. Though the game brings fresh changes compared to Madden 22, your goal to win games should remain the same. While a basic sense of the sport helps a long way in the game, touchdowns, and victories will not come easily. Different game styles involve different plays, either developed by circumstance or a matter of taking risks....

Sony has unveiled the selection of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers next month and it’s quite the odd pairing. On the one hand, you have the eternal PS2 classic Shadow of the Colossus in its PS4 remake glory. On the other hand, you have the somewhat functional Sonic Forces. Talk about yin and yang. If you haven’t played Shadow of the Colossus in one of its various forms over the years, you’re in for a real treat....

Ubisoft has today unveiled a feast of fresh Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope gameplay footage, showcasing its intriguing new settings, characters and chaos. This sequel to the excellent Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle takes place in a “whimsical” and gorgeous new galaxy, that’s a curious blend of both Mario Galaxy and Rabbids universes. Within its orbit float worlds of autumnal colour, frozen snow and sandy beaches, like a Mario Galaxy game in miniature....

It’s hard to believe that the Marvel Cinematic Universe not only launched out the gate in 2008 in Iron Man with a ten-year plan, but actually managed to connect all its threads together into Infinity War. The Avengers seemed crazy enough in 2010, but Infinity War took it to another level entirely. The MCU has changed the landscape of film entirely. Franchises are possible, and they don’t all need to share a name....

Marvel’s Avengers didn’t quite make the splash that Marvel and Square Enix were hoping for, even if I thought it was a pretty good game. Still, when you’ve got a ton of money wrapped up in something, it can be too late to cut your losses and get out. Black Panther – War for Wakanda is a free expansion coming to the game on August 17, so that’ll hopefully be enough to get some eyes back on the game and keep it afloat for a bit longer....

The recently announced delays of several major games, including Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Cyberpunk 2077, and Marvel’s Avengers, has led to some consternation among fans, but no one’s likely more exhausted by the delays than their own developers. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on the 10th of March. And in another big addition, Microsoft Flight Simulator will be available via Cloud - meaning you can play on Xbox One for the first time. Game Pass subscribers will also be able to get their hands on Far: Changing Tides, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13, Kentucky Route Zero, Lawn Mowing Simulator and Young Souls throughout March....

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 was a sequel superhero fans had dreamed of for years. Thanks to Nintendo and Marvel Games the third entry in a fan-favorite series returned. This time around, we get to see a really impressive interactive manual that the developer is going to release alongside six more manuals in PDF form. Today third-party developers had juicy news to share about upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons and an airport release. We start with the Airbus A350-1000 in development at Digital Flight Dynamics. We get to take a look at new work-in-progress renders of both the flight deck and the exterior, on top of the aircraft within the actual simulator, and it’s quite impressive. At the moment, we still don’t have a release date for this project which will be freeware and open source....

Isometric horror puzzle adventure In Nightmare has been announced as coming to PlayStation consoles from March 29, 2022. The game puts you in the shoes of an unnamed boy who wakes up to find himself in a world of nightmares created from his own memories. You’ve got to help him sneak past these literal inner demons, solve fiendish puzzles and help him overcome his fears and escape the nightmare. Evil West comes to gamers as the latest third-person shooter from Shadow Warrior developer Flying Wild Hog. Taking a new approach from the aforementioned Shadow Warrior, this title sees players take control of a vampire hunter to protect the Old West from supernatural entities. As with many new releases, some gamers have questioned whether this game will appear on Xbox’s Game Pass subscription service. Here’s your answer as to whether Evil West is on Xbox Game Pass....
