Everyone’s favourite web-crawler Spider-Man is still set to launch as DLC for Marvel’s Avengers later this year, according to senior game designer Scott Walters. He was speaking to Screen Rant, who asked for an update on Peter Parker’s alter-ego’s whereabouts given we’ve not heard much of late. “In terms of what we can say now, we’ve always scheduled and looked to bring Spider-Man out in 2021 for PlayStation owners,” he said....

Sci-fi ARPG The Ascent is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X in 2020, from indie developer Neon Giant. The studio counts developers who have worked on Wolfenstein and Gears of War in its ranks, and drew inspiration from “classic sci-fi books to modern day action games” like Halo and Mass Effect for The Ascent. “Planet Veles is one of many planets across the galaxy run by mega corporations—far larger than anything we have today— and travelling between planets costs a huge amount of resource,” said Jack Gosling, senior digital marketing manager for publisher Curve Digital....

Today third-party developers shared new screenshots of upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons, including a much-anticipated aircraft and three airports. We finally get to see screenshots of the cockpits of the AccuSim Piper PA-24-250 Comanche by acclaimed developer A2A Simulations. The developer mentioned that the screenshots were taken straight from the simulator without any processing. The folks at A2A are “working around the clock to make this the very best airplane we’ve ever made in every aspect, physical, visual, and aural....

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new video (yes, another) for Middle-earth: Shadow of War introducing the Mystic Tribe. The Mystic Tribe is a faction of Orcs that specialise in dark magic, witchcraft, rituals and incantations that go back over a thousand years. Best get some Oil of Olay on the go then. The Mystic tribe’s warriors are as adept at battle as the Orcs are in other tribes, but all of Mordor fears the curses and spells that the Mystic tribe are capable of....

In an effort to calm the post “there will be no dedicated servers in Modern Warfare 2 on PC” storm, Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling has made a sizeable post on his blog explaining why fans should be looking forward to the introduction of the new IWNET matchmaking service. “I recently broke news on a PC community member’s podcast that Modern Warfare 2 would be introducing a completely new back end infrastructure called IWNET that would allow matchmaking for multiplayer games on PC,” said Bowling....

Injustice 2’s achievement list has seemingly revealed the identity of one of the game’s unannounced characters (via XboxAchievements). Two achievements (I Love You, I Hate You; and Why Aren’t You Laughing?) specifically reference Joker who hasn’t been announced by NetherRealm and Warner Bros., as of yet. While Batman’s nemesis is in Injustice: Gods Among Us, he hasn’t been confirmed as a playable character for the sequel as of yet, but the achievements list confirms the world’s second most frightening clown will be returning to the series....

A listing for PES 2016 Free To Play has been spotted on the website of the Australian Classification Board, reports MCV. No platforms for the Free To Play version are listed. Exactly how Konami would monetise a free-to-play version remains to be seen, but the regular edition does feature microtransactions in MyClub mode. Derek Kolstad, the creator of John Wick, has been hired to write the script for the film adaptation of Just Cause. Robert Kulzer from Constantin Film and Adrian Askarieh from Prime Universe Films will together produce the picture with Kolstad, writer of all three films in the John Wick series. The announcement comes only a day after Lionsgate revealed that John Wick 4 is planned to release on May 21 of 2021, following this past opening weekend of the third film in theaters....

Bandai Namco released another character trailer of its upcoming fighting game JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R. Last weekend we saw a trailer focusing on the trio of Stone Ocean, today we get to see one of them in action in her dedicated trailer, Ermes Costello. The Phantom Thieves of Heart are receiving new abilities and powers in Persona 5: The Royal, and Joker is no exception. It has been revealed that Joker will be able to summon a creature that has not been part of the Persona series since Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment in the form of Fafnir the dragon. Square Enix has announced details on the English voice cast for Kingdom Hearts 3, with Frozen’s Kristen Bell reprising her role as Anna for the upcoming Disney-RPG sequel. Main protagonist Sora will be voiced by the returning Haley Joel Osment, while Josh Gad (Olaf), Idina Menzel (Elsa), and Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) will make up the rest of the Frozen cast for the sequel. Other confirmed voice actors include Tony Anselmo as Donald Duck, Bill Farmer as Goofy, and Kevin R....

Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill publisher Konami has denied rumours that it is to shut down its gaming division following an internal restructure of the business that saw it consolidate its production divisions. The rumours came following the company announcing the restructure to its investors in a corporate release yesterday that included many personnel changes and organisational restructuring, including the appointment of several production division bosses—ie, those who would be responsible for the gaming sections of their business— in new roles and seemingly dissolving Production Divisions 1, 2 and 3....
