After years of delays, Intel has finally moved on to a more advanced manufacturing node, bringing new levels of performance and efficiency to its desktop processors. As it would have it, this technological step forward also coincides with the introduction of Intel’s new Hybrid architecture that introduces a mix of big (P) and little (E) cores all on a single monolithic die. Codenamed “Alder Lake,” we’re looking at what is the most exciting new generation of processors from Team Blue in years....

Intel unveiled a Meteor Lake die earlier today at the 2022 IEEE VLSI Symposium, as reported via Tom’s Hardware. The reveal was accompanied by details regarding the 14th gen Meteor Lake CPU architecture and Intel’s new “Intel 4” 7nm node which promises big technical improvements to performance and efficiency. Alongside this, the company also revealed a roadmap that illustrates when we can expect to see future generations of process technologies and CPUs....

Sega has released a new trailer for the upcoming Iron Man 2 game based on this Summer’s sure-to-be-smash-hit movie. This trailer is a bit more interesting than the initial game footage (below), as it depicts the War Machine character model in his shoulder-canon firing glory! Movie based video games do not have a great track record over all, and Sega’s first Iron Man game was definitely not without its flaws. In that game, playing as Iron Man was entertaining enough, as you could fly the character around, use various weapons, and even upgrade armors throughout the game....

House of the Dragon, based on the works of George R. R. Martin, is set release on August 21, 2022. The Targaryens are front and center in this latest HBO series. They’ve been intrinsically tied to dragons, even being dragonriders themselves. Since House of the Dragon is a prequel series and will explore Targaryens and their dragons more than ever, viewers will witness many of Westeros’ most famous scaly creatures. But what of the most famous dragons of them all: is Balerion in House of the Dragon?...

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is arriving this year – and will no doubt be one of the biggest releases on the Nintendo Switch. By the time Tears of the Kingdom launches, the game would have been in development for around five years. In fact, development kicked off shortly after The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released. As expected, Breath of the Wild director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, and producer Eiji Aonuma, are returning for Tears of the Kingdom, which can give us some clues as to what to expect gameplay wise....

UPDATE 21/9/22: Following yesterday’s less-than-subtle social media teasing of a Ted Lasso cameo in FIFA 23, EA has made it official, confirming the titular Apple TV+ show’s fictional London football team AFC Richmond will be playable in the upcoming game. Ted Lasso actor Jason Sudeikis will lend his likeness to the game, in the role of the show’s eponymous manager, as will key members of its on-pitch cast - with the likes of Brett Goldenstein’s Roy Kent, Phil Dunster’s Jamie Tarth, and Cristo Fernández’s Dani Rojas making an appearance in the trailer accompanying today’s news....

UPDATE 29/4/22: More games which look likely to join the upcoming PlayStation Plus Premium service have been found on Sony’s servers, in addition to the three originally found below. Data for the all-time PS1 classic Worms Armageddon, as well as its follow-up Worms World Party, have also now both been spotted (thanks, Gematsu). As a reminder, PlayStation is yet to officially confirm the games which will join its Premium service when it launches on 22nd June in Europe...

Ubisoft Toronto’s former managing director Jade Raymond has joined EA as the head of a new development studio called ‘Motive Studios’. Based in Montreal, Canada, Motive will help collaborate with BioWare on next year’s Mass Effect: Andromeda and Amy Hennig’s Star Wars title currently in development at Visceral Games. In addition to opening Motive, Raymond says that she will also “oversee the Visceral studio in California”, although it’s unclear whether this means she has officially taken on the role of studio head....

Developer Psyonix has added the Aston Martin DB5 to Rocket League, instantly making it a better video game than it was before the addition. The car, which Bond first drove in Goldfinger, is available to purchase in the item shop, for 1,100 credits. It comes with authentic engine sounds and a unique decal and set of wheels. Unfortunately, the car isn’t equipped with guns, revolving licence plates, or an ejector seat....

Get ready to hop on that Flying Nimbus, folks — Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is only a couple days away. To celebrate, Bandai Namco dropped the launch trailer for the game, in which we finally get to hear some lines from Goku’s best frienemy, Vegeta. We also finally got the full system specs for the game, which honestly is about damn time. The minimum requirements have been out for about a week or so, but today we now know what’s recommended....

The moment that some people thought might never happen has finally become a reality. Kingdom Hearts 3, developed and published by Square Enix, is available now for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For fans of the series, this title has been a long time coming, having gone through many delays since 2012, when the last console installment in the series - Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance - was released for the Nintendo 3DS, not to mention the 6-year gap since Kingdom Hearts 3 was officially announced at E3 2013....

Although gamers are currently busy getting their hands on some of the fall’s most exciting releases (like Death Stranding), it’s never too early to start looking forward to next gear’s biggest events. The summer release of Marvel’s Avengers is certainly going to be one of the most exciting games to arrive before the next-gen consoles take over in later 2020, and super hero fans are learning more and more about the game as it approaches....
