Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro still have plans to work together on a new project, despite the cancellation of Silent Hills. Speaking with IGN, Del Toro explained that he enjoys working with Kojima and that the two are “still in touch”. “We are still friends and working into doing something together,” he said, “but that’s not going to be [Silent Hills].” Konami confirmed that Silent Hills had been cancelled earlier this year, but suggested that it was still talking to Kojima and Del Toro about their involvement in a future project....

A Fallout fan named Seth has been awarded a free copy of Fallout 4 after sending publisher Bethesda over 2,000 bottle caps. In Hawaii this past week a man by the name of Craig Smallwood has filed a federal suit against NCSoft, publisher of the massively mulitplayer game Lineage II. He claims the game is responsible for causing an addiction so bad that it prevented him from performing normal everyday tasks, like bathing. Mr. Smallwood claims he became addicted to the point where he was: Now I don’t know about the rest of you, but I know plenty of Americans who choose not to do many of these tasks without the aid of videogames....

Today Sony Interactive Entertainment released a brand new trailer of the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PC. The trailer showcases all the features that PC gamers can expect from the game when it launches on PC in a few days. We’re getting support for NVIDIA DLSS 3 and DLSS 2, DLAA, and NVIDIA Reflex, Ray-traced reflections and shadows, Ultra-wide Monitor support, customizable controls, and more. The port is developed by Nixxes Software, which was acquired by PlayStation last year exactly for this purpose....

A large part of what makes role playing games so addictive is that —rather than just telling a story— they let you, the player, have a part in the narrative. Hence the words “role playing” in the name of the genre, right? Not many developers come up with RPG stories like BioWare. The studio has produced some less-than-stellar titles over the year, including Dragon Age II, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, and more recently Mass Effect: Andromeda, which is being met with mixed feelings to say the very least....

EA has announced Mass Effect Andromeda, the next game in BioWare’s epic sci-fi series heading to PS4, Xbox One and PC next year. Due for release in holiday 2016, Andromeda invites players to “discover a new galaxy”. Further details have yet to be announced. The first trailer for the game can be seen above.

Control developer Remedy Entertainment is celebrating the 20th anniversary of arguably the studio’s most famous game, 2001’s noir shooter Max Payne. A new video has both the voice and original face of Max—James McCaffrey and writer Sam Lake, respectively—wishing Max a happy birthday. Lake thanks the original team, although admits not many of them are still at the Finnish studio. He also thanks the teams at 3D Realms, Rockstar (who currently own the rights to the series) and of course, the fans....
