Not to be confused with the similarly named member of throwback rock group Sha Na Na, Bowser has been a thorn in Mario’s side since the first Super Mario Bros....

On Monday, Nintendo announced that Mario Kart Tour will finally receive a full multiplayer update on March 8. Released back in September, Mario Kart Tour was the racing game’s first step into the world outside of Nintendo. For the most part, Mario Kart Tour was a way to bring the classic Mario Kart experience to mobile phones, albeit with a smartphone-friendly control scheme in a similar vein to Super Mario Run....

Camouflaj has released patch 1.06 for Marvel’s Iron Man VR, and it brings a number of improvements, new weapons, new challenges, and New Game+. The new weapons will be available through the Armor Station, and include the Continuous Beam Repulsor, the EM Charge Cannon, the Micro Swarm, and the Gravity Bomb. These will absolutely come in handy when attempting the new Ultimate difficulty mode, or the New Game+ mode. “Another set of eight awesome Custom Armor Decos by our character artist Chris Foster will be added to the Armor Station in the garage, along with new challenges to overcome for unlocking them,” continued the developer....

The people at Square Enix have been taking a close look at rival developers, as producer Yoshinori Kitase has named Marvel’s Spider-Man as one of the games that influenced Final Fantasy VII Remake. Fans of Final Fantasy VII once expected a remake of the game to use the same turn-based style as the original, but the people at Square Enix had different plans. When gameplay footage of Final Fantasy VII Remake was revealed, it more closely resembled Final Fantasy XV or one of the Kingdom Hearts games than the original title from ‘97....

PC players with a hankering for some big stompy robot action are in luck; mech shooter Daemon X Machina has been confirmed as next week’s free Epic Games Store game. Daemon X Machina, which originally released as a Switch exclusive back in 2019 before making its way to PC the following year, casts players in the role of mercenaries employed by the Orbital organisation. Crucially, these particular mercenaries have access to huge Arsenal mechs, and each successive missions sees players sliding and zooming across vibrantly hued post-apocalyptic arenas blasting the bolts off enormous robot enemies driven by corrupted AIs....

Developer Pirahana Games has announced that mech action game MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will arrive on PlayStation consoles later this month. It’ll mark the first time a MechWarrior game has appeared on a PlayStation console since 1995’s MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat. The game takes place in 3015 where MechWarriors duke it out on the battlefield. You’re the leader of a mercenary company of these MechWarriors, and must take your team on a series of missions....

A lovely little surprise from PSX over the weekend, as Sony has announced that its classic PS1 action-adventure MediEvil is to see a release on the PlayStation 4 in 2018. In case you weren’t aware, MediEvil chronicles the adventures of Sir Daniel Fortesque, a well-meaning but initially-inept knight who dies to the first arrow fired in a battle against evil sorcerer Zarok, only to be inadvertently resurrected a hundred years later when Zarok returns and raises an army of undead soldiers to take over the kingdom of Gallowmere....

Koei Tecmo has unveiled another two fighters for Dead or Alive 6’s ever-swelling roster, with newcomer Diego and returning brawler Rig stepping into the ring. Both characters will be strutting their stuff at Evo in Las Vegas this weekend, where Dead or Alive 6 will debut its first playable consumer build. Diego is known as ‘The Uncrowned Street Hero,’ having grown up in the rough back alleys of New York City while competing for cash to help is ill mother....

In Midnight Suns, you get to be a new Marvel hero and work with Captain America, Spider-Man, and the rest of the team to try to defeat Lilith and her demons. As with many of the best video games, the characters voices have been getting more talented actors to play them, giving the game a cinematic feel to the whole experience. Nintendo has announced in a new video that development of Metroid Prime 4 has been effectively rebooted, with series creator Retro Studios now helping out on the project. Shinya Takahashi, senior managing executive officer, confirmed that progress on Samus Aran’s latest adventure wasn’t progressing to a satisfactory level, and as a result, the format holder made the difficult decision to take things back to the drawing board. Retro wasn’t originally in charge of the title....

Developer Hazelight has been forced to abandon the trademark for co-op adventure It Takes Two thanks to a claim by Take Two. As per Eurogamer, the trademark claim was made by the Grand Theft Auto parent company soon after the launch of It Takes Two. As a result, Hazelight had to abandon ownership of the name. EG asked Hazelight for a statement, but it could only say that the team “cannot comment on ongoing disputes”....
