The official Kirby account in Japan has tweeted a teaser for the franchise’s upcoming 30th anniversary celebration. A new website has been opened up for the anniversary, and “a variety of activities coming soon” to celebrate have been teased. Right now, there isn’t a lot of information about how Kirby’s big milestone anniversary, which happens on April 27, 2022, will be celebrated. Koei Tecmo has confirmed its increasing its average basic salary in Japan by 23 per cent. The increase - which sees the average salary jump by ¥73,000 (that’s £442) a month - follows similar initiatives by Bandai Namco and Capcom in a bid to attract and retain its staff. The company has also pledged to boost the starting salary for new graduates from ¥234,000 to ¥290,000 - that’s a jump from around £1417 a month to £1756 in order to “improve the motivation” and “welfare” of its staff....

It’s been revealed that the upcoming Lost Judgment will include a playable Master System in new Japanese language gameplay footage. As spotted by Video Games Chronicle, the video was posted to the official Japanese language Ryu Ga Gotoku channel today. Square Enix has said Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy did not perform as well as it had initially hoped. In the newly-released outlines from Square Enix’s Q3 financial results briefing, representative director Yosuke Matsuda stated: “The HD Games sub-segment launched Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy in Q3. Despite strong reviews, the game’s sales on launch undershot our initial expectations”. However, Matsuda went on to say: “Sales initiatives that we kicked off in November 2021 and continued into the new year have resulted in sales growth, and we intend to work to continue to expand sales to make up for the title’s slow start”....
