Sega has released the latest entry in the ‘What is Shenmue?’ video series, this time looking at the memorable cast of characters that populate Shenmue I & II. Once again narrated by Corey Marshall, the voice actor behind Ryo Hazuki in the English version of Shenmue, the video offers a glimpse at everyone from Ryo himself, to the enigmatic Shenhua and gangster Ren. Those are just the main cast, though. Shenmue also boasts a massive lineup of NPCs, from shop clerks, biker punks, your love interest Nozomi Harasaki, to a cute orphaned kitten....

Meta has finally revealed its new premium VR headset that has been rumored for quite some time. The Meta Quest Pro launches on October 25 for $1,500 USD. It’s aimed at enterprise users, so it’s not necessarily for the standard gamer. In other words, Meta’s aiming to cover a more general VR market as opposed to one strictly geared toward gaming. Like the Meta Quest 2, the Pro model will be entirely wireless....

Developer The Outsiders and publisher Funcom have released a short documentary about the making of rhythm game/first person shooter mashup Metal: Hellsinger. The video clocks in at just under fourteen minutes and features interviews with the creators of the game, the composing duo Two Feathers, and even some of the featured vocalists from established metal acts on the soundtrack like Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquility and Matt Heafy of Trivium....

Developer 4A Games’ Metro Exodus was one of the most anticipated shooters of 2019, and while its critical reception didn’t quite hit the highs of its predecessors it has proved extremely popular nonetheless. This week, The Embracer Group, publisher Silver Games’ parent company, has revealed the game has sold a whopping 6 million units since its launch. It’s the first sales update we’ve had in quite some time. Metro Exodus sold 200,000 copies over its first 5 days on the market in 2019....

Digital media will be the future of home entertainment, or at least that’s what Microsoft is counting on. Although, it would be a great coup for Sony to make money off of its competitor and get a Blu-Ray drive in the 360, Microsoft is determined to go without it. Perhaps this is a result of HD-DVD’s failings, or simply Microsoft’s standard of never supporting a competitor. Microsoft and Xbox love their controllers. Over the years we have had a plethora of great controllers and color designs from Xbox, and that doesn’t look to be changing anytime soon. Microsoft announced two new controllers coming for the Xbox One. They are “Sport Blue” and “Night Ops Camo.” The announcement came at Gamescom and fans of Xbox, and controllers, are excited. Just days after PlayStation announced a few new controller colors, Microsoft did the same for the Xbox One....

While Asobo normally announces the location of a Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update a few weeks in advance, it notably kept this one under wraps until launch day. Today’s World Update X, takes Microsoft Flight Simulator players back to the United States. If it feels like you’re experiencing déjà vu — you’re not. This is actually the second time that a World Update has featured the USA as its location. But now, its scenery has been outfitted with even more enhancements that stretch from the Pacific Coast to Coast, and even to its outer Territories....

First-party games released by Microsoft during “the Scorpio time frame” will all run at a native 4K resolution on Microsoft’s new console, publishing manager Shannon Loftis has said. That means that games due to release next Christmas and beyond will all run at native 4K, although Microsoft has yet to say what they might be. I’d expect Forza Motorsport 7 to be one of the main ones. “Any games we’re making that we’re launching in the Scorpio time frame, we’re making sure they can natively render at 4K,” Loftis explained to USA Today....

Eidos Montreal has polished off another Shadow of the Tomb Raider video for you to gawk at, offering a look at Lara Croft’s extensive arsenal of weapons. Obviously there’s a bow and arrow involved, because it wouldn’t be a modern Tomb Raider game without one, right? League of Legends season 10 (or “season 2020”) is starting on January 10, and Riot just released a pretty sweet cinematic ahead of the event. The cinematic is called “Warriors” and fittingly has Imagine Dragons’ song of the same name. It’s a somber cover version, though, because there is always a somber cover version of a song. League of Legends star Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has extended his contract with Korean esports organization T1, committing to the team for another three years. The contract also makes the legendary mid laner part-owner of T1 Entertainment & Sports, and guarantees him a leadership position within the organization upon his retirement. League of Legends publisher Riot Games previously prohibited players from owning equity in the organization they play for. The company updated this rule in October of last year, officially allowing players who have represented their team for at least three consecutive years to own stake in the organization....
