Today Microsoft and Asobo Studio hosted a livestream showcasing upcoming plans for Microsoft Flight Simulator. As usual, we hear from head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann, Asobo CEO Sebastian Wlock, and executive producer Martial Bossard. First of all, we hear from Neumann that Microsoft Flight Simulator is breaking records again. After the launch of the cloud version, the sim has been enjoyed by more users than in any month in the history of the franchise....

UPDATE 28/1/21: Microsoft has now said that the changes to Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass agreed with the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority will be rolled out worldwide. “Changes to inactive subscriptions will initially roll out in the UK and will be available globally soon,” a Microsoft spokesperson told The Verge. Details of all the changes are listed below in our original report. Concept art of the upcoming 2024 Call of Duty game and Modern Warfare 2 have allegedly leaked online. As spotted by ResetEra, Twitter user RealiityUK - although they’ve had other accounts taken offline by DMCA strikes - shared the images over the weekend, posting a full thread of what seem to be loading screens from the shooter which they say were discovered in Warzone Mobile test files. [UPDATE: This account has, predictably, also now been shut down....

Last week, Worms developer and indie game publisher Team17 brought the ire of the internet upon itself as bosses attempted to launch a range of collectible Worms NFTs. The 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit has officially begun as the first Minor of the season has found its champion. Beyond The Summit hosted DOTA Summit 11 this past week, the event pitting eight teams against each other for the grand prize of $72,000. In addition to the prize pool, the victors received 140 DPC points and a spot at the upcoming MDL Chengdu Major. In it’s continuing quest to become the be-all end-all of the living room, Microsoft is hoping to add TV and movie streaming service Hulu to the Xbox 360. A functional app for the purpose exists, but rights issues concerning Hulu’s content are currently holding the feature back. Still, Microsoft hopes to be able to announce Hulu functionality for the Xbox 360 at E3. A separate subscription fee to enable the service will be required....

Jack “CouRageJD” Dunlop, a prominent Fortnite player who is mainly known for his Twitch streams, has moved to – not Mixer – but YouTube. Following the footsteps of both Ninja and Shroud, CouRage made the announcement through a creative video short, released on his Twitter. In the video, CouRage uses comedy to lead into his announcement, poking fun at Dude Perfect, ASMR streams, and cooking shows along the way. He talks to his roommates (Nadeshot and Valkyrae) about his desire to seek out a new way to make interesting content, fearing stagnancy....

The console versions of Katamari Damacy-inspired platformer Unbox have been delayed to 2017, publisher Sold Out has confirmed. The PC version remains on track for release in 2016. “We tried to do PC and console together,” CEO Garry Williams said in the latest issue of MCV. “That’s difficult for anybody coming from the indie sector. Usually they [the developer] have a dream of making a title and it’s based on enthusiasm and artistic merit....

Yoji Shinkawa (Metal Gear series), Toshifumi Nabeshima (Armored Core series), and Takayuki Yanase (Ghost in the Shell, Xenoblade Chronicles, Gundam). These are the names attached to Square Enix’s latest project, Left Alive. This is the hotly anticipated return to the Front Mission universe — the first spinoff since 2010’s Front Mission Evolved. Given that it’s also helmed by veteran developers who are familiar with sci-fi and mech action, Left Alive seemed to have everything going for it....

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may have been released at a year ago, but it is still collecting awards from all corners of the industry. The latest accolades that have been given to Breath of the Wild have come from the Game Developers Choice Awards of 2018. The GDC have given Breath of the Wild the 2018 Game of the Year award, as well as the Best Audio and Best Design awards....

UK retailer Argos is carrying a listing in its latest catalogue for the LEGO Harry Potter Collection on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. According to the company (via Resetera), the collection will launch in November and bundles LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and Years 5-7 into one package. Warner Bros. hasn’t confirmed anything just yet, so don’t go grabbing your wand and Quidditch kit just yet. The Harry Potter Collection was previously released on PlayStation 4, so it’s not too hard to imagine it’ll come to other platforms at some point....

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is out, and the response has been great. While the game may be basically just a remake of the original, it carries the classic Zelda spirit with it and is a great starting point in the series for newcomers to jump into. Part of the reason for the game’s success is Nintendo’s attention to detail in all aspects of their games. This is particularly evident in the Easter eggs that crop up throughout Link’s Awakening, many of which are cameos of characters from other Nintendo games....

Game Freak’s Little Town Hero will launch for PC on June 30 (via Gematsu). Axe, our intrepid hero, thinks Town is fine enough, but he’d love to have an adventure of his own. The looming castle in Town keeps it safe from harm from the monsters that stalk the lands outside of the refuge, so, Axe is left kicking his heels and itching his palms for something to do. However, a mysterious event causes a monster to manifest inside the confines of Town, and Axe is able to vanquish the beast with a stone he found in the mines....

Madden NFL 20 has recently released and as veteran players are getting acclimated to some of the changes, there’s a host of new NFL football fans who are diving into their first video game experience of the professional sport or are returning after an extended hiatus. Running the ball helps chew the clock and control the pace of the game, but passing is where the chunks of yards and highlight catches come from....

As BBC Studios finishes up work on its new TV series The Watch, inspired by Terry Pratchett’s tales of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch from his Discworld books, the production company the author founded a few years before he sadly passed away in 2015 has struck a brand-new deal with Motive Pictures and Endeavor Content for a proposed slate of Discworld TV adaptations. The mammoth undertaking seems set to adapt the Discworld series of over 40 novels....
