Norwegian Black Metal, friendship, murder and the sheer joys of shouting “Haaaaiiiilllll saaaaaattttaaaann” at unsuspecting passersby are at the heart of Lords of Chaos, a highly unusual true-crime biopic wearing the satanic garb of a horror movie. Far funnier than you’d expect, it’s the incredible true story of the band Mayhem, created by a guy calling himself Euronymous, in Oslo in the 1980s and how his hubris and desire to generate a mythology around the band led to super dark times for all involved....

Genshin Impact is arguably the most popular free-to-play action role-playing video game of 2020. In its patch 1.2, miYoHo has added multiple new missions to make the game more engaging and entertaining. There is a mission called ‘Lost In Snow’, which tasks players to reunite a young boy named Joel with his lost father. EA has confirmed that they will still release Madden NFL 21 this year despite the complications caused by the spread of COVID-19. On top of that, EA has confirmed that Madden NFL 21 will be available for next-gen consoles. 2K Games and Firaxis Games revealed a new trailer for the turn-based tactical game Marvel’s Midnight Suns, dedicated to one of its playable superheroines. We get the first brief look at Nico Minoru, perhaps one of the most obscure heroines included in the game. The trailer provides a quick look at her powers and also includes the iconic line “When blood is shed, let the Staff of One emerge” with the Staff of One being Nico’s signature weapon....

Microsoft has issued its response to the Federal Trade Commission’s lawsuit against its planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The FTC has claimed the $69bn deal would let Microsoft suppress its games industry competition. The company defended the proposed $69bn buyout, defended its previous acquisition of Bethesda owner ZeniMax Media, and justified its decision to make three future titles from the company exclusive to Xbox and PC. One of its core arguments is the FTC’s approach to assessing the acquisition is unconstitutional, specifically violating the Fifth Amendment right to due process....

As previously reported, Microsoft has officially released the first update for its new Windows 11 OS. But, in a curious move, this update is also being deployed to PCs that were previously deemed as being “unsupported.” The company actually warned users with unsupported hardware that even though they’d be able to run the launch edition of the new operating system, subsequent updates would not be receivable. Just Cause 3 will launch in holiday 2015 on PS4, Xbox One and PC, Square Enix and Avalanche Studios have announced. Although expected launch this year, this is the first time publisher Square Enix has pinned the game down to a launch window. The game’s first story trailer has also been released. Kingdom Come: Deliverance has a whopping 23.07GB day one patch on PS4, according to early copies that have trickled their way into stores across United Arab Emirates territories (via Gadgets 360). While that’s a pretty shocking figure in its own right, it’s even more face palm-worthy if you consider the fact the update takes the total install size for Kingdom Come to around 46GB — essentially doubling the weight of the game file on your hard drive....

The issue of Final Fantasy characters being absent from Kingdom Hearts 3 has been touched on before. Both Nomura, the director of Kingdom Hearts, and Tai Yasue, the co-director of Kingdom Hearts 3, have provided answers to the question, but because Re: Mind officially releases tomorrow, Nomura has addressed the issue once more. Tai Yasue claimed that Final Fantasy characters were absent for story reasons. The team wanted Kingdom Hearts 3 to focus solely on Kingdom Hearts characters, and they didn’t expect fans to miss the Final Fantasy appearances that much....

Warner Bros. has announced two new LEGO titles for release later this year. Arriving in June, LEGO Jurassic World follows the storylines of all three previous Jurassic Park movies and this summer’s Jurassic World. Then, in autumn, LEGO Marvel’s Avengers will let players experience the storylines from The Avengers and upcoming sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron in their quest to save humanity.
