Beau Is Afraid is the newest film by director and writer Ari Aster and tells the story of Beau, an anxious man who, after his overbearing mother dies, makes a journey home that involves some wild supernatural threads. The film is also described as a decades-spanning surrealist horror film set in an alternate present. The film’s trailer shows the story might be something unusual and unique, a horror adventure where nothing is what it seems, following an even weirder than usual Joaquin Phoenix....

Juanelo Turriano, a contemporary of Hans Bullman, creator of the first automatons, was an Italian/Spanish inventor and clock maker who also created automatons in the 1500’s.It’s believed that Turriano created the automaton Clockwork Prayer. Driven by a key-wound spring, the monk walks in a square and makes varied motions like striking his chest, raising and lowering a wooden cross and rosary in his left hand, rolling his eyes, and mouthing silent obsequies....

I had been waiting for a PC release to jump into Judgment. The announcement finally came, or so I thought, but it ended up being for the game’s Stadia launch. Turns out there was some issue where the lead actor’s talent agency didn’t want Judgment on PC. Well, that’s apparently been taken care of. I was under the impression that the game was notably different from the Yakuza series that it’s spun off from, as it stars a detective rather than a criminal (former or otherwise)....

Just Cause 3 will launch for PS4, Xbox One and PC globally on December 1 2015, Square Enix and Avalanche have announced. The game features over 400 square miles of game world to explore. There will be 80 land, sea and air vehicles, plus unlimited C4 and grenades. Collectibles and Challenges include wingsuit races, scrapyard scrambles, destruction frenzies and more.

More ‘old game shutting down online services‘ news today, as developer Guerrilla Games has announced that the servers for Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 are to finally be ‘decommissioned’ on March 29, 2018. The games are pretty old, with Killzone 2 releasing as far back as 2009 (how is that nearly ten years ago?) and Killzone 3 back in 2011 both for the PlayStation 3, but it says something that people were still apparently playing those games for this long....

It was just about a year ago when Telltale Games suddenly and unceremoniously closed their doors. Many developers were abruptly given notice that they were out of work. They would later discover that they would not be receiving any severance pay for their sudden termination. Along with that, games in development by Telltale such as The Wolf Among Us 2 met their end with the studio. Their studio-defining series The Walking Dead was even abandoned in the middle of its final season....

E3 2020 doesn’t take place until June, but that hasn’t stopped some details of the show from leaking online. A list of E3 2020 attendees has leaked, revealing some surprising companies that will participate in this year’s show, as well as some glaring omissions. The E3 2020 leak comes courtesy of Resetera user Rosti, who discovered the list through the official E3 website. It includes E3 mainstays like Bandai Namco, Capcom, and Bethesda, but also includes some companies that haven’t always been at the show....

Over the past few years, the massive fighting game tournament known as Evo ran into quite a few difficulties. The rise of COVID-19, as well as the sexual misconduct allegations levied against the event’s co-founder. led to the cancellation of the 2020 tournament. Then, the persistence of the pandemic resulted in Evo 2021 becoming an online-only event. With the pandemic seeming like it will finally wind down, the organizers of Evo 2022 have decided to bring the tournament back in full force, with an in-person event planned to take place in Las Vegas like before....

Lost Ark is a recently launched top-down fantasy massively multiplayer online action role-playing game on Steam. It was the second most played game within twenty-four hours after its release and has gained a lot of attention. There are multiple quests, items, resources, and boss fights in the game that you will go through as you progress up the level. A Nose For News is a type of Roster quest in the game....

Cryptic Studios has been fairly quiet on the development of Magic: Legends recently. However, the studio has been working closely with nearly 100,000 Closed Alpha testers and Wizards of the Coast to ensure it delivers the ultimate Magic the Gathering MMO experience. After a long silence, Cryptic has now released two juicy pieces of information. A date for the Magic: Legends Open Beta, and a gameplay-fueled trailer that shares more details about Deckbuilding in the MMO....

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan has received its second developer diary today courtesy of developer Supermassive Games, offering another behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming horror title. The first part of the series looked at the choppy oceans and stormy weather, which are put to good use to bring the game’s ghost ship setting to life. This latest video looks at how the studio has gone about shifting the tone over the course of the game....

In what appears to be an unexpected move, tech company Nvidia has announced that, in a partnership with Nintendo, select Gamecube and Wii games will be available to play on the Android gaming device Nvidia Shield in China. As first reported by Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad on Twitter and later confirmed to Engadget in a statement, people in China will be able to download and play New Super Mario Bros Wii, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Punch Out among other titles available for the system with more to come, making it the first time these games have been officially available in the country....

Nintendo has dropped what it says is its final free content update for Mario Golf: Super Rush on the Nintendo Switch. The 4.0 update adds new characters, courses and even a couple of modes to our favourite red plumber’s latest fairway outing. First off is the addition of Wiggler, with the very angry caterpillar being a Power character. His special ability allows him to use his rage to increase ball flight distance and move faster in Speed Golf....
