League of Legends isn’t a new game by any stretch of the imagination, but with the new pre-season underway, it definitely has a new feel to it that players have been wanting for a long time. Officially, League of Legends was released on Oct. 27, 2009, and with each new pre-season, there are massive changes to the game. With the introduction of the new rune system, removal of the level cap, and the changes to Influence points (now blue essence), this pre-season has to be the biggest update yet....

To celebrate International Women’s Day, which is today, Letterkenny has surprised its fans with a brand new special episode. The episode has already dropped on Hulu and Crave, and is centered around an anti-beauty pageant. In the teasers that Hulu has posted so far, the boys talk about some of their favorite women in history, with Squirely Dan mentioning Kim Kim Cattrall and the admiration he has for the actor’s many accomplishments....

Dontnod Entertainment has dated the remaining episodes of Life is Strange 2, with the next chapter in the series, Wastelands, arriving on May 9. There’s a bit of a wait to go until the final two episodes, though, as Episode 4 won’t arrive until August 22 and Episode 5 isn’t due out until December 3. For the record, that means Life is Strange 2 will have spread its chapters across 15 months, as opposed to the original game’s 10 month release schedule....

The first episode of Life is Strange will be available to download for free from tomorrow, July 21, Square Enix has announced. The discount will be available permanently across PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Mac, allowing players to try out the game before spending any cash. Up until now, the episode would have cost you £3.99. “By making the first episode of Life is Strange free, we’re really excited to welcome new players to the world of Arcadia Bay and our passionate, vibrant community,” said Square Enix’s European marketing VP Jon Brooke....

The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase 2022, had an array of announcements and a lot of gameplay shown off. This includes a Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th anniversary edition, an extended look at Starfield, and much more. During the show, we got confirmation that Lightyear Frontier will release in spring 2023. Yesterday was a big day for fans of Magic: The Gathering. Not only is a new set dropping in a few weeks, but Wizards of the Coast also revealed the Magic: The Gathering 2021 roadmap, and some big things are in store for the game. Unless more gets added down the line, it looks like we now know every set that will release for the game next year. First, Zendikar Rising releases on September 17 for Magic: The Gathering Arena, and the physical cards will release the following week on September 25....

There’s a Mass Effect mash-up pack for Minecraft now, and it offers 36 character skins, custom textures, Mass Effect-themed menus, and a Mass Effect 3 soundtrack mix (via Nintendo Life). In a galaxy far far away, there was a special agent named Shepard. She touches a beacon left behind by an ancient alien race, and it gives her a vision of death and destruction enacted by the mysterious Reapers. Meta and The Order: 1886 developer Ready at Dawn are shutting down all servers and services for Echo VR. After 1st August (at 10am Pacific), the game will no longer be playable. In a blog post sharing this news, the developer called this a difficult decision, but one that was made “for many good reasons”. While the developer did not elaborate much further on what these reasons are, it did state it is now going to focus on its “next project”....

Metro Exodus developer 4A Games has offered players a glimpse at the game’s handgun weapons class, and it’s fair to say you won’t have any trouble finding something that tickles your fancy. From the look of things, Metro Exodus allows you to tinker around with weapons to your heart’s content, with a myriad of customisation options at your disposal. I mean, how many games have something called a Bastard Gun, or let you make a sniper rifle out of a humble revolver?...

The next DLC for Metro Exodus will arrive in early February. Unlike the first DLC, The Two Colonels, which took players back underground, Sam’s Story is going to be a lot less linear. Starring a completely new playable character, Sam’s Story puts you in the boots of an abandoned US Marine in a sandbox survival setting. And it will be available in two weeks. Today third-party developers have provided new images portraying upcoming add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator. We start with MilViz, which posted another singular image of the upcoming Cessna 310. A specific release date has not been announced yet, but it should be fairly close. It certainly looks promising. Next comes MSK Production which had an image each to share for Jinnah International Airport (OPKC) in Karachi, Pakistan, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (VABB) serving Mumbai, India....

Third-party developers had quite a few reveals to share about add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator today, on top of a relevant new release. We start with the traditional weekly update from DC Designs which includes new screenshots of Concorde and even one of the upcoming freeware P-61B Black Widow. Microsoft Flight Simulator, despite all its grandeur, is no stranger to having some serious technical hiccups. Asobo spent a good chunk of 2020 (and even half of 2021) trying to outfit it with the necessary optimizations and bug fixes. Things have been mostly okay for a good while. But now, some serious bugs have once again presented themselves following the recent release of Microsoft Flight Simulator Sim Update 9. Asobo has taken to Twitter to publicly note that it is aware of the large issues that players have been reporting....

Microsoft wants to build more partnerships with Chinese developers in a bid to catch up with Sony’s ventures in the industry in China, according to reports. Industry sources, speaking to Reuters, said Microsoft is approaching both large and independent studios with deals to put their games on Game Pass. The success Sony saw with Genshin Impact and its developer miHoYo is the reason behind Microsoft’s desire for expansion, sources said....

Immortals Fenyx Rising was a surprise favorite of mine in the wee months of 2020. I found it to be an excellent time and was a bit sad to have completed it. Naturally, it’s a Ubisoft game, so there was always going to be more on the way, but no timetable had been indicated. Astoundingly, the first bit of DLC for Immortals Fenyx Rising, titled A New God, may actually be scheduled for less than two months after the release date of the main game itself....

Imperator: Rome released in April 2019. It was touted as Paradox Interactive’s latest original IP, a grand strategy game that took you back to the time of the Roman Republic’s infancy, its rivalry with Carthage, and the rise and fall of Greek and Indian kingdoms. Sadly, there were several problems at launch, though it’s had a number of patches and overhauls that helped improve the gameplay.
