Hideo Kojima’s name has been removed from the Zone of the Enders HD Collection page on Konami’s website. The removal is the latest in a series of alterations made to Konami’s websites and branding, following shortly after Kojima’s name was removed from the artwork of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection. The HD Collection’s original description stated that the release “marks the return of two fan favorite PS2 games from Hideo Kojima”, and that “the games feature the engrossing storytelling of Hideo Kojima paired with thrilling robot fights in a futuristic interplanetary setting”....
Konami seems to have a ‘special announcement’ on the way for Tuesday. On the Twitch page for E3 2019, there is a dedicated section for the proposed announcement from Konami. The announcement will take place on Wednesday June 12, 2019 at 1:30am. But what could it be? Riot Games is launching the Star Guardian 2022 event today in its popular MOBA League of Legends, and a music video has been released to celebrate. In a slightly unexpected move, Valve and Twitch TV have combined forces to let you link your accounts together. The reasoning behind this is simple: it’s called Dota 2. With tournament matches letting spectators win prizes for watching through the game client, but Twitch being the preferred method of spectating for a number of players, this meant that prizes were unavailable for a subset of players. On Monday, Wizards of the Coast announced that Field of the Dead, a powerful, zombie-producing land, would be banned in Magic: The Gathering’s Standard format. Microsoft has announced the full lineup of titles set to join Xbox Game Pass next month, with trinket-pinching adventurer Rise of the Tomb Raider leading the charge. Lara Croft’s critically acclaimed sequel will be joined by Sea of Thieves, which lands on Xbox Game Pass on March 20. This ties in with Microsoft’s previous announcement that all major exclusives will hit the service day and date with their boxed counterparts, with Sea of Thieves being first out the gate....
Enad Global 7 (EG7) has announced the cancellation of Daybreak Games’ Marvel MMORPG. “Based on the re-evaluation of the development risk profile, size of investment, and the long-term product portfolio strategy for the group, the board has decided to change the development priorities and reallocate resources within the group to focus on alternative long-term projects,” the company stated today. EG7 went on to reveal it had originally planned to invest more than SEK 500m (£40m) in this project over the coming few years....
