Marvel’s Avengers may still be nine months away from release (who’s counting, though?), but that doesn’t mean gamers aren’t thirsty for details. The project remained almost a complete mystery for the first two years after its original E3 teaser, but now that the Avengers’ launch day is less than a year away fans are finally start to get a better idea of what this game is going to be, who they’ll be able to play as, and how single and multiplayer will work....

At the Gamescom 2019 expo in Cologne, Germany, Den of Geek was lucky enough to spend an hour in the Square Enix booth for some hands-on time with Marvel’s Avengers. We played the game’s tutorial-like demo, which Marvel has also shared online in video form, and watched a presentation from the developers about how the game will play out after this intro level. Of course, with this being a massive upcoming title, everybody involved is playing their cards close to their chests, from the publishers at Square Enix to the developers at Crystal Dynamics, Nixxes Software BV, and Eidos Montréal....

Marvel’s Iron Man VR will come to PlayStation VR on July 3, as announced by developer Camouflaj and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment (via Gematsu). “After several years as a world-famous Super Hero, Tony is attacked by the mysterious Ghost, a hacker and anti-corporate activist who repurposes old Stark Industries weapons,” reads the description for the game. “In her efforts to topple his empire, Ghost attacks Stark’s corporate locations around the world, leading to ever-escalating stakes and a final showdown....

Mass Effect 2 is currently free on EA Origin as part of its On The House promotion, giving PC gamers the chance to own and play one of the greatest action RPGs of all time. Last week, a massive Bundle for Ukraine was made available on itch.io by 732 developers spearheaded by Necrosoft Games. In a week, the bundle has raised over $5 million. The initial goal was already raised twice after the $100,000 and $1 million thresholds were passed in less than a day. Microsoft hosted its quarterly financial conference call for investors and analysts and chief executive officer Satya Nadella and chief financial officer Amy Hood talked about the Xbox business. Nadella talked about the success of the investments made by the company in gaming, boasting 18 million users for Forza Horizon 5 and over 20 million for Halo Infinite, defined “the biggest Halo launch in history.” Hood mentioned that the supply of Xbox hardware (Xbox series X and S) during the Holiday season was higher than expected....

There’s no doubt that the redesigned live-action Sonic looks better than the original, but is the tweaked blue hedgehog more handsome than before? Frontier has announced that dino park-’em-up Jurassic World Evolution has sold one million copies worldwide in five weeks. The game launched on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One as a digital download on June 12, and was released physically on July 3. The sales milestone takes into account both digital and retail sales of the title. ‘We are really pleased with Jurassic World Evolution and are delighted to have crossed the 1 million unit threshold so quickly,’ said an obviously chuffed David Braben, CEO of Frontier....

Four new monarchs are crossing gaming dimensions in Kingdom Two Crowns: Dead Lands. The free update will introduce an unlikely assortment of new heroes from an entirely different game. Dead Lands summons Miriam and three others from ArtPlay’s and Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The free update will be available on April 28. Speaking of dimensions, the Bloodstained characters are about to lose one. Kingdom Two Crowns is a 2D, sidescrolling game where a chosen monarch atop of pixelated steed is set to rebuild their kingdom....
