As promised, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics released footage of Marvel’s Avengers during Gamescom 2019. The video shows gameplay from Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, and Captain America, but is limited to the game’s introductory tutorial level. Luckily a watchful YouTuber named JorRaptor spotted some additional, brand new footage being shown on side screens at the Marvel’s Avengers’ booth. The new footage showcases previously unseen aspects of the game including costumes, finishers, and enemies....

Square Enix announced the third Marvel’s Avengers War Table stream will take place on September 1 at 1 PM ET. It will be the final pre-release stream and give eager players an in-depth look at the game’s launch content as well as the future DLC roadmap. Square Enix will also provide a closer look into the design and creation of the game. Marvel’s Avengers launches for PC on September 4 and will be available exclusively on Steam....

It’s been a big week for Marvel Snap, especially with the launch of the game’s first Nexus Event, as well as a huge balance patch that really shook up the meta. Specifically, big changes to some key Pool 1 cards like America Chavez, Strong Guy, and Kazar have resulted in a popular and competitive Pool 1 deck feeling a lot clunkier to play. As noted in a previous article, I’m not a huge fan of these changes, as Kazoo was pretty much the only viable competitive deck that newer players could build with the cards at their disposal....

Metal Slug Tactics, developer Leikir Studio’s turn-based tactical twist on SNK’s classic run-and-gun series, has been delayed and is now due to release on PC and Switch sometime next year. Announced last June, Metal Slug Tactics reunites familiar faces Marco, Eri, Fio, and Tarma as they lead the Peregrine Falcon Squad onto a different kind of battlefield, where the series’ classic side-scrolling action makes way for “dynamic, strategic combat” on a grid-based map....

It seems Metro Exodus has done very well for publisher THQ Nordic, and as a result the publisher is tapping up developer 4A Games to work on a new ‘upcoming, still undisclosed AAA-project’. The news comes from THQ Nordic’s latest extended finanical year report published last night, which also revealed that Metro Exodus was one of the best performing games for the group for the fifth quarter period between January and March of this year....

Today third-party developers have showcased new assets of their upcoming aircraft add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator. We start with MilViz, which lately is having a lot of fun releasing single screenshots of its upcoming aircraft. That’s quite the tease, but below you can see the A-1H Skyraider in all its glory. Next is SimWorks Studios, which provided new screenshots of its Van’s Aircraft RV-14. The developer is currently seeking pilots to verify the flight model....

Today Microsoft had a lot of news to deliver for fans of Microsoft Flight Simulator, directly from Cologne, Germany, where Gamescom 2022 is being hosted. First of all, we get two themed releases, starting with the free “City Update 1” which brings five cities enhanced with photogrammetry to the sim. These are Hanover, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Bonn, and Cologne itself. Incidentally, I’ve met head of Microsoft Flight Sim Jorg Neumann and Asobo CEO Sebastian Wlock at Gamescom, and I heard from them that the City Updates could continue if this is week received by the sim’s users....

Today third-party developers have shared news about upcoming add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator. We hear about the vintage airliner BAE 146 by Just Flight: not only do we get a rather spectacular video showing the staring of the aircraft’s iconic four engines all the way to taxi, but the developer made a significant announcement about its release. The release window has been set by the end of April, around April 25, and while “a lot can happen between now and then” this is seen as “doable” as things stand....

Asobo Studio has announced that its free Top Gun Maverick expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now available. The new additions are of course, to mark the Tom Cruise film of the same name. The pack promises to challenge players to push their piloting skills to the limit with some new challenges. As we previously learned, the pack includes a movie-inspired skin for the F/A-18E Super Hornet, but there’s some additional stuff too....

Tekken 8 got its moment in the sun at The Game Awards last night, and for fans of the long-running fighting game franchise like me, one thing stood out: Jun Kazama’s return.
