It’s no secret that Mass Effect: Andromeda was generally panned by critics and regarded as a bit of a disappointment after fans had waited so long for a new entry in the series. Developer The Outsiders has announced it will be delaying the launch of rythmn FPS Metal: Hellsinger into 2022. Microsoft Flight Simulator developer Asobo Studio has confirmed that the next upcoming world update, this time focusing on the UK, will be landing for the simulation title tomorrow. As per the latest development update, the studio says that World Update 3 is now in its ‘Final Polish Phase’ and should be ready for deployment tomorrow pending any last minute setbacks. It was originally intending to release last week on February 11, but was held back for last minute fixes and tweaks....
Microsoft has voluntarily recognised a union formed of about 300 ZeniMax Studios testers. A “supermajority” of workers voted to unionise, the Communication Workers of America said. The testers work across ZeniMax Studios, which includes Dishonored developer Arkane, Skyrim maker Bethesda and Doom dev id Software. The testers are currently working on a raft of games, including 2023 Xbox exclusives Redfall and Starfield. It’s the first time Microsoft has agreed to recognise a union, and marks the biggest video game union in the US to form as part of a growing labour movement within the industry sparked by 2021’s shocking sexual misconduct allegations at Activision Blizzard....
Activision has said it didn’t get the balance right for last year’s Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, but is aiming for improved sales for this year’s game by taking the franchise back to its roots. “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a high quality, innovative game that paired with Modern Warfare Remastered offers a tremendous amount of value and gameplay variety. However, sales underperformed our expectations, and it’s clear that for a portion of our audience, the space setting just didn’t resonate,” Activision CEO Thomas Tippl explained during the publisher’s Q4 earnings call overnight....
Intel has finally unveiled both the release date and price for the Arc A770 at its Intel Innovation event. The graphics card is set to launch on October 12, with a cost of $329 USD. A report from Bloomberg states that Star Theory Games has shut down after Take-Two Interactive took over development of Kerbal Space Program 2. In December 2019, Star Theory Games employees received a message through LinkedIn from Michael Cook, executive producer for Private Division, which is the indie publishing branch of Take-Two Interactive. The message said that Kerbal Space Program 2 was no longer Star Theory’s game to make, and also that employees were welcome to work on the game if they became part of the newly appointed developer’s team....
