It was confirmed some time ago by Valve’s Doug Lombardi that the first downloadable content for Left 4 Dead 2, entitled “The Passing” would be extremely important to the overall story of our favorite multiplayer zombocalypse, and that it would in some way have the cast cross paths with the four Survivors from the original Left 4 Dead; Francis, Zoe, Bill and Louis. Quoth Mr. Lombardi: The Passing will be set immediately following the events of the Dead Center campaign, and will take place in rural Georgia....

Developer Springloaded Games has updated fans on the progress of Let’s Build a Zoo. Let’s Build a Zoo is a top-down zoo tycoon game that has had its release date confirmed for November 5. This update was posted on the game’s official Steam page under recent events and announcements. Let’s Build a Zoo has been in development for a little while now, having first been revealed in April. Its unique selling point is that it provides the player the ability to splice together different species....

Little Nightmares - the original instalment in Tarsier Studio’s gleefully sinister horror platform series - is getting a mobile release, and will launch for iOS and Android sometime this “winter”. The original Little Nightmares debuted for PC and consoles back in 2017, telling the deliciously unsettling tale of yellow-raincoated moppet Six, as she attempted to escape The Maw - a strange underwater vessel inhabited by a multitude of bizarre residents....

Lollipop Chainsaw isn’t high art by any means, but it was a fun surprise back in 2012. Players were treated to Juliet Starling, a fun “final-girl” type of character as she slashed zombies with a pink, heart-engraved chainsaw. Crystal Dynamics has attempted to further clarify upcoming changes to Marvel’s Avengers XP system following questions from fans after the announcement last week detailing the rework coming to the game in next week’s major update. On the game’s subreddit, an official Crystal Dynamics account noted on the current system: “Currently, as you get to higher levels, the XP required between levels didn’t scale well, but your ability to crush enemies certainly does speed up at higher levels, so you could end up leveling up (“dinging”) 2 to 3 times per mission – with missions taking about 10-20 minutes in length....

Developer Insomniac Games’ formerly PlayStation-exclusive Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be coming to PC on 18th November - and ahead of its release, Sony has detailed the PC port’s system-specific features and requirements. In case it somehow wasn’t immediately obvious, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is the Miles-Morales-starring follow-up to Insomniac’s original Marvel’s Spider-Man, taking the first game’s acclaimed web-swinging open-world action and infusing it with a new hero and a bit of snowy, seasonal jollity thanks to its year-end setting....

Drew Karpyshyn, lead writer on Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, has joined fellow former BioWare developers at Archetype Entertainment. He’ll be working on an unannounced role-playing game as the start of a new, original franchise. In a post on his personal blog, Karpyshyn stated that he was excited by the working environment at the studio. He said: Mass Effect to mass exodus Karpyshyn wrote for several early BioWare titles, including Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire....

Exoprimal is Capcom’s new team-based dinosaur hunting action game that was revealed earlier this year. A new trailer released, giving players a closer look at some of the dinosaurs featured in the game. Shown during San Diego Comic Con, the Exoprimal trailer shows the dinosaurs in all their action. When the Wachowskis were laying out their vision for what would become The Matrix in the late ’90s, they sat down producer Joel Silver and showed him a VHS tape of Ghost in the Shell – Mamoru Oshii’s classic anime adaptation of Masamune Shirow’s manga. With The Matrix, the Wachowskis wanted to mix up a heady cocktail of Hong Kong action, cyberpunk, philosophy, eastern and western myth, as well as the bold stylings of Japanese and American comic books....

One of the biggest questions inspired by Microsoft’s deal to acquire Activision, is whether Call of Duty would still be released on PlayStation platforms. Today newly-minted Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has a fairly clear answer to share on Twitter. Spencer explained that he had a number of “good calls” with Sony’s leadership to confirm Microsoft’s intent to honor all existing agreements with the house of PlayStation, and to express the “desire” to keep Call of Duty on Sony’s platforms....

TurtleBlaze’s Kunai has been review bombed, which took its Metacritic score from 8.1 to 1.7 in one fell swoop (via Gamasutra). Developer Benjamin de Jager revealed what had happened through a post on Gamasutra. Firstly, he links to a deleted Reddit post published by a user who said they review bombed New World Interactive’s Insurgency Sandstorm. Their favourite character did not appear in the Netflix Pokémon Sun & Moon show, and so they chose to manifest their anger on the last game they played: Insurgency Sandstorm....
