The Xbox Series S is certainly an attractive, cheaper proposition for the next generation, though naturally there’s a few comprimises to ensure the smaller price. Today third-party developers shared some more interesting news about Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons. We start with DC Designs and CJ Simulations, which provided a new look at their Eurofighter Typhoon, alongside a development update. Drzewiecki Design also published new screenshots, and this time around they’re of Tallinn Airport (EETN), serving the capital of Estonia. At the moment, we don’t have a release window yet, but like all of this developer’s work, it looks really promising....

Today Microsoft and Asobo Studio hosted a livestream showcasing upcoming plans for Microsoft Flight Simulator. As usual, we hear from head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann andAsobo CEO Sebastian Wlock. Since it’s winter, snow coverage of airports and roads will be fixed with the next patch, while snowy terrain in general will be improved in future updates making it more realistic. We get the new roadmap for 2023, starting with the first “Aircraft and Avionics” Update in January, which does exactly what it says on the tin, with the good folks at Working Title improving aircraft and their avionics....

M’M Simulations released Vestmannaeyjar Airport (BIVM) in Iceland, a small but interesting airport serving the island of Heimaey in the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago....

Today Microsoft itself released a brand new aircraft for its popular sim Microsoft Flight Simulator. Specifically, they’ve launched the super-popular general aviation aircraft Beechcraft Bonanza V35. The Bonanza family of planes has been in production since 1947, making it the longest-running continuously produced aircraft series in history. The V35 is iconic due to its V-shaped tail, and it certainly appears to look great in the simulator. It can be purchased on the official marketplace for $14....

Bethesda may release less-than-polished games regularly and apparently adopt some questionable business practices, but it has fostered a healthy modding scene at the very least. Whenever a new Bethesda game arrives, you can count on modders to improve the experience substantially with bug fixes and additional content. Every so often, a mod comes out and provides players with a staggering amount of new content that boasts AAA-level production values. That description definitely applies to Fallout: London, an upcoming mod of Fallout 4 that adds a DLC expansion’s worth of content to the base game....

Plenty of players enjoyed Green Hell VR overall. However, it did streamline the original experience to a significant extent, which may have disappointed some who hoped for a more direct translation. According to a press release, Green Hell VR on Steam brings more to the fold. It’ll implement “a wider terrain to explore, higher graphic fidelity, and different UI and mechanics” to provide “an even more immersive survival experience.” The developers specifically stated that Green Hell VR boasts at least 60 different mechanics pertaining to combat, healing, crafting, and various other elements....

The PBS program Antiques Roadshow, about a group of traveling experts who offer free appraisals on the value of a variety of objects, recently featured a prototype of the Ark of the Covenant prop which was eventually featured as the central goal of treasure hunting adventure, Raiders of the Lost Ark. Despite never featuring in the actual movie, the prop was estimated to be worth at least $80,000 to $120,000 at an auction....

When Luke Perry unexpectedly passed away last spring, rather than having a rushed writing out of his character on the show, Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa chose not to address Fred Andrews’ absence in the final episodes of the season at all, saving the topic for Season 4 when it could be more properly addressed. The first episode of the upcoming season, which premieres on October 9th, will address Fred’s absence, acting as a tribute to the character of Fred Andrews, but, more importantly, as a tribute to Luke Perry....

Today Bandai Namco released a new trailer and screenshots of its upcoming fighting game JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R. The Joy-Con drift lawsuit filed against Nintendo earlier this year has included the new Nintendo Switch Lite to its claims that the controller design is leading to malfunctioning hardware (via Polygon). In July, Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith law offices collated the stories from Switch players experiencing Joy-Con drift to file a class action lawsuit against Nintendo. Joy-Con drift is when the Switch reacts like you’ve moved the analog stick or D-pad even when you haven’t, and causes play to suffer for it....
