UPDATE 29/6/22: Sony has now officially confirmed July’s PlayStation Plus games, and as previously detailed, these will be Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan and Arcadegeddon. All three games will be available from 5th July until 1st August. And, as a reminder, you have until 4th July to add the current line-up of God of War, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl to your collection....

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, the 2012 fantasy RPG is, apparently, getting a remaster. This news comes to us thanks to a leaked listing on the Microsoft Store. Called Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, this may be another instance of THQ Nordic testing the waters with a remaster. They did the same with Darksiders before committing to actual sequels. Rising from the ashes Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning remains listed on the Microsoft Store as of this writing....

God of War’s Photo Mode is now available to download in a new title update, meaning Kratos finally has an opportunity to exercise his facial muscles and crack an actual smile in some awkward-looking selfies. The feature can be accessed via the options menu, and is pretty simple to utilise; just fiddle with the thumb sticks to move around a scene and then use the R2 and L2 to pan up and down, with Square resetting the position of the camera....

These images give us a good look at some of the show’s set pieces, and, dare I say it, it’s all looking cautiously optimistic. This first set of images show the inside of the series’ vault, including a nursery, Vault 32 insignia and a Vault Boy poster warning of the outside world. You can see them below. Another set image was shared by FilmsFallout, showing some branded wheelbarrows. Meanwhile, while the above are all set pieces and props, another leaked image from Twitter user Robots_Radio has shown the series’ take on the vault suits....

Last week, Wizards of the Coast responded to the staggering frequency with which Field of the Dead was being played in Magic: The Gathering’s Standard format by banning the powerful, zombie-producing land. The banning of Field of the Dead in Standard MTG has forced many players to gravitate towards new decks, and after this weekend, a picture of what cards fans are interested in playing in this new metagame is starting to come increasingly into focus....

UPDATE: The PS3 version of Mass Effect 3 isn’t actually available for free after all, despite the full game appearing as such on the PlayStation Store website. Instead, the game has been reduced to £6.49 or £5.84 to PS Plus subscribers. The confusion appears to have stemmed from the game’s free 1-hour trial, which is still available to PS Plus members. ORIGINAL STORY: PlayStation Plus subscribers can download the PS3 version of Mass Effect 3 free for the next three weeks....

Game Pass is getting another set of new games to play, once again impressing me despite the fact that I probably won’t touch most of them. (That’s just how it is with subscription services, people.) Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Embr are two games out of eight that are joining PC Game Pass this month, opening the door for some of the older games in the service to leave. The Mass Effect Legendary Edition is arriving on Game Pass as a part of the service’s EA Play deal....

The MediEvil remake has been hotly anticipated and a link to the game’s demo was listed on the Japanese PlayStation store before being removed shortly after, leaving fans disappointed to have missed it. Twitter user, Zibel, posted the news earlier today. The demo includes Dan’s Crypt and The Graveyard which are exactly the same levels that the games original demo included. It has been rumored that the demo release was intended for Sony’s upcoming State of Play....

Moze the Gunner is the latest Vault Hunter to receive a character trailer for the forthcoming Borderlands 3. Gearbox and 2K Games released the video earlier today and it’s titled, ‘The BFFs’. The diminutive demolition woman Moze narrates the disastrous final mission that wiped out her entire squad. As strong as her mech Iron Bear is — with its grenade launchers, railgun and mingun abilities — it wasn’t enough to turn the tides....

The Metroid series skipped the N64, with the first 3D entry being the GameCube’s Metroid Prime. That is, until now! Mexican indie developer Luto Akino has been putting together his own version of what a possible Metroid 64 may have looked like. Akino has shared a video of his work on Twitter, which shows a wonderfully polygonal Samus Arun exploring some caves (spotted by Kotaku). The low-res textures and blocky environments are charmingly retro, but Samus’s moveset is intact....

Today Microsoft and Asobo Studio hosted a livestream showcasing upcoming plans for Microsoft Flight Simulator. As usual, we hear from head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann, Asobo CEO Sebastian Wlock, and executive producer Martial Bossard. Neumann started by mentioning that the simulator is continuing to break engagement records and there are now almost twice as many people swimming as there were in the middle of 2021. We get a detailed roadmap for 2022 including world updates up to 17, Local Legend aircraft up to 7, Famous Flyer aircraft up to 5, and major releases including Top Gun: Maverick, helicopters, gliders, and two “surprises....

Today aNCHOR announced the release date of its upcoming Muv-Luv mobile game Immortals: Muv-Luv Alternative. We learn that the game will launch in Japan on March 17 for iOS and Android. For the moment, a western release date has not been announced even if the developer mentioned that they’re doing their best to achieve it in our recent interview. On top of that, we also got the first look at the character artwork for four popular characters, Akane Suzumiya, Haruko Kashiwagi, Mitsuki Hayase, and Michiru Isumi....

Ubisoft has unveiled Immortals Fenyx Rising, which used to be called Gods and Monsters. It’s an action-adventure RPG set in ancient Greece, and seems to be a cross between The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The first thing to say, and the least helpful thing to say by quite some distance, is that it looks like a Ubisoft game. Check out the trailer: As you can see, there are both gods and monsters in abundance, which makes the name change that much more disappointing—and vaguely annoying....

It’s hard to believe, but the Justice Society of America hasn’t been a major presence in the DC Universe in nearly a decade. Seemingly wiped from existence by the onset of the DC’s New 52 reboot in 2011, other versions of the JSA did eventually appear, but not in their original incarnations as the elder statesmen of the DCU. But beginning with 2016’s Rebirth special, and continuing with hints in the pages of The Flash and Doomsday Clock, it was clear that DC Comics once again had plans for the original Justice Society, and it was only a matter of time before they returned....

Intriguing news from the world of GPU hardware today, as Intel indicates its intentions to re-enter the discrete GPU business. Intel CPUs have long had integrated graphics chips (iGPUs), but this would be the first time since the cancelled ‘Larrabee’ project in 2009/2010 that the company has dabbled in discrete cards. To add another twist to this story, the man heading Intel’s new ‘Core and Visual Computing Group’ as its chief architect will be none other than former AMD Tech Group Leader Raja Koduri....
