Ben Brode, the charismatic former boss of Blizzard’s card battler Hearthstone, has finally revealed his new project. It’s called Marvel Snap, and is a new multiplayer collectible card game filled with comic book characters. Brode quit Blizzard back in 2018, after more than 15 years at the company, and before its more recent troubles became public. Alongside others who had worked with him to launch Hearthstone, Brode went on to found his own studio, Second Dinner, which has been working on Marvel Snap ever since with Chinese outfit Nuverse, the gaming arm of TikTok owner Bytedance....

The graphics for Metal Wolf Chaos XD (remaster of fan-favorite president-piloting-a-mech game) have been updated in a way that feels more in line with the executive office it represents. And no, we don’t mean that publisher Devolver Digital made it more orange. For those who haven’t kept track, the off-the-wall action game that is somehow from the same company that brought you Dark Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Metal Wolf Chaos was a 2004 Xbox exclusive game where you took control of fictional President Michael Wilson as he fights to retake the country after a military coup led by the traitorous Vice President Richard Hawk....

The Spintires series of games is relatively young when compared to other franchises on the market, but they’ve become very big deals for good reason: they offer a sublime simulation of off-road driving. One of the biggest releases of the summer, Sony continues to release PC ports of its enviable back-catalogue of first-party PlayStation titles. Co-op adventure It Takes Two seems to have gone down well, with Hazelight Studios declaring the game has sold three million copies. The development team made the statement on their Twitter account today, celebrating the achievement. “The thought of so many people enjoying our game is humbling and heartwarming. Developer IO Interactive and publisher Square Enix have decided to move up the release date for their crime-drama shooter and follow up to Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. Yes, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days will be releasing a week earlier than expected, on August 17, 2010. The decision to move the release date up may have been influenced by the fact that Mafia 2 will be coming out on August 24....

The Grinch has always been in Kenan Thompson’s life. He can remember their first meeting, well before his record-breaking 16-season run on Saturday Night Live or even his early claim to comedy fame on millennial childhood touchstones like All That and Kenan & Kel. For Thompson recalls specifically when he first watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, the original 1966 animated adaptation with Boris Karloff’s narration, and then was promptly deceived....

Hideo Kojima revealed that his studio Kojima Productions will be making movies as well as making video games, as part of his vision for the company (via IGN). BBC Newsbeat interviewed the Metal Gear creator for a documentary on the development of Death Stranding. Kojima put it plainly: ‘In the future, Kojima Productions will also start making films. If a person can do one thing well, then they should be able to do anything well....

The developer for Little Nightmares has been acquired by THQ Nordic parent company Embracer Group and will start working on a new project after the development of Little Nightmares II. The company formerly known as THQ Nordic AB has picked up Swedish developer Tarsier Studios for 99 million SEK (or roughly $10.5 million USD). This includes all 65 of the company’s employees as well as ownership of all intellectual property. However, Tarsier’s most well-known game, Little Nightmares, remains with Bandai Namco....

UPDATE 31/3/22: Following the actually quite exciting discovery of raytracing support in the latest Minecraft Preview build on Xbox, Microsoft has admitted the feature was “inadvertently included” and that players shouldn’t expect to see it on consoles in the “near future”. “The previous Minecraft Preview build available to Xbox Insiders inadvertently included prototype code for raytracing support on Xbox consoles,” Microsoft said in a message posted to the official Minecraft Twitter account....

It looks like Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl will now release in the first half of 2023 for Xbox Series X/S and PC. This news did not come with an official statement or announcement. Rather, following Microsoft and Bethesda’s showcase last night, Xbox released a tweet detailing all its upcoming games for the next 12 months. As you can see below, this image shows Stalker 2 on the right-hand side, which denotes the games releasing in the first half of 2023....

Going back to its original 1960s incarnation, Lost in Space has always been the story about family. More specifically, it’s been the story about one family: the Robinsons.
