Sony announced this week that the PlayStation 4 will allow cross-play with other consoles and PC for ‘select third-party content.’ Now, Microsoft has responded to the announcement with the following tweet: That little hallelujah-style emoji is in response to Sony’s announcement that Fortnite will be the first game to test the cross-platform play, in open beta. Lab Zero Games’ long-awaited RPG Indivisible will finally see its release this coming October. Microsoft Flight Simulator boasted a variety of features back when it was initially revealed, like the inclusion of real-time, real-world air traffic data. And while the functionality is certainly present, its representation isn’t the greatest in its current state, with missing liveries and very basic traffic models that don’t represent the real flights they’re trying to emulate. LEGO Marvel’s Avengers will launch in Europe on January 29, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced. The game was first announced for an autumn 2015 release, but then switched to a winter window. The Nintendo Switch remake of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, which releases on September 20th, is for the most part simply a graphical overhaul of an otherwise faithful recreation of the original Link’s Awakening for the Game Boy (or, more specifically, a remake of the re-release of Link’s Awakening, subtitled DX, for the Game Boy Color, as the new version includes the earlier re-release’s added Color Dungeon). Its one, major new addition is the Chamber Dungeon Editor, which allows players to create original dungeons out of (sometimes slightly modified) individual rooms from any of the dungeons they’ve completed....

Fable developer Lionhead is closing today, marking the end of a 20-year run for the studio. Microsoft announced a “proposed closure” of the studio last month but, “after much consideration”, has reached the decision to shut it for good. The beta for the studio’s latest game, Fable Legends, was taken offline on April 13. “We can confirm that after much consideration over the six week consultation period with Lionhead employees, we have reached the decision to close Lionhead Studios,” a Microsoft spokesperson told Eurogamer....
