Nintendo has announced a free update coming to Mario Golf: Super Rush from tomorrow that includes a new character, a new course and a new mode. As revealed on Twitter, Toadette will be taking to the fairway in the update alongside a new Ranked Mode. Also promised in the free additions is a new course based on New Donk City from 2017’s Super Mario Odyssey. The update also promises “improved motion controls” so it should feel a little smoother when you swing with the Joy-Cons....

More than fifteen years on from its previous installment, the Mario Strikers series returns to the spotlight with Mario Strikers: Battle League. Sadly, though it does offer up some major improvements over its predecessors, it’s a game that’s severely held back by a major lack of content. Even so, anyone looking for something fun to play with their friends or family should still find a lot to love here. Announced a few months ago, Marvel Snap is a new digital card battler developed by Second Dinner, which is headed up by Ben Brode, who had previously worked on Hearthstone. A brand-new gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain will be released during Gamescom this Wednesday, August 5, Konami has announced. The video will reveal all-new footage focussing on the Mother Base aspect of the game, and will detail building options and unique customisation elements. It’ll also explain the game’s multi-player FOB (Forward Operating Base) feature and demonstrate how users can infiltrate other players’ FOB bases to steal resources for the first time....

Today third-party developers had interesting news to share about Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons, including aircraft and airports. We start with FlightFX, which finally announced the release date and pricing of its Cirrus Vision Jet SF50. The announcement was made on the developer’s Discord Server and the light business jet will be released on Tuesday, November 22, priced at $24.99. The second announcement comes from PilotPlus, which revealed the development of Swansea Airport (EGFH) in the United Kingdom....

Today the Microsoft Flight Simulator add-on scene was very lively, with several releases and new assets showcased for upcoming aircraft. We start with DC Designs and its concord, which received the first video showcasing a take-off with full reheat from Heathrow. We also get new screenshots and a development update from the developer. The next video comes from Hype Performance Group showcased the battlefield support version (H145M) of its Airbus H145 helicopter....

Today third-party developers delivered new assets about upcoming add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator, on top of a new release. Taiwanese developer ACO Design Studio teased its next airport. While the name was not mentioned, the shape of the terminal is unmistakable. We’re looking at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, the largest international hub in the country. Considering the developer’s excellent quality, we’re likely in for a treat, but it may certainly take some time....

The folks at Brave New Gamer picked up on some interesting information regarding Microsoft and the future of the Halo franchise. 28 new job listings were added to the Microsoft Interactive Entertainment Careers site, most of which were for positions at 343 Industries, the folks overseeing all Halo projects. The jobs range from producers, artists to programmers and animators for work on Halo Waypoint to other positions for what’s described as a “new experience in the Halo universe....

Avengers: Infinity War finally gave us an antagonist who lived up to the billing. Previously, these villains had been dealt with relatively easily as seen in The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron. In Thanos, we got a villain who was pretty much invincible right until the very end (although he still ended up winning). He did win, of course, as Avengers 4 is still left to be released. Nintendo has forecast Wii U console sales of only 800,000 units for the year ending March 31, 2017, down from the 3.2 million units sold in the previous year. Such a dramatic drop in sales could indicate the firm is simply allowing for current inventory to be cleared, suggesting production of the console has or will end soon. Soulja Boy says he sold 5 million consoles in December, which seems like a lot.
