Action RPG Magic: Legends is to shut down on October 31, publisher Perfect World Entertainment and developer Cryptic Studios have announced. A statement on the game’s official website by Cryptic’s Steve Ricossa explained the decision. “Our vision for Magic: Legends missed the mark, but we are proud of what we achieved. Nintendo announced Mario Tennis Ultra Smash at its e3 Nintendo Direct. It’s due for release on Wii U in Q4 2015. Few details were revealed, other than it looks a lot like Mario Tennis, including power-ups such as a big mushroom. This is what Nintendo PR had to say about the game. “Up to four players can compete in tennis matches that could only take place in the Mushroom Kingdom. MercurySteam has confirmed its next project as a new action RPG codenamed ‘Project Iron‘ to be co-developed & co-published with 505 Games. The latter’s parent company, Digital Bros Group, revealed the project in a press release (spotted by Video Games Chronicle). So far we know that the game will be a “third person action RPG set in a dark fantasy world”. Elsewhere, the statement also confirms Project Iron will be available on PC and consoles....

Call of Duty: Black Ops, which launches worldwide on November 9, is likely to be the “biggest entertainment launch of all time,” Activision boss Bobby Kotick has told investors. It is probably safe to assume everyone reading this is excited about the new “Avengers: Endgame” trailer. Marvel Heroes was a rather good ARPG when it launched and the fact it was free to play was a real bonus. Developed by Gazillion, the game was also overseen by Diablo creator David Brevik until he left Gazillion in January 2016. Today Disney announced that they are shutting the game down despite the game having only launched on consoles earlier this year. Gazillion issued a statement on their forums....
