Ninty has confirmed that Dry Bones and Kamek are heading to Mario Tennis Aces in the next couple of months. The news comes hot on the heels of today’s Pauline trailer, who is taking to the court via online tournaments from tomorrow. Kamek is first in line and can be earned by competing in tournaments starting in April, while Dry Bones can be snapped up the following month. If you don’t fancy slugging it out online, then you’ll have to wait a bit longer to grab them both....

Microids just released a platformer based on a famous children’s property with The Smurfs – Mission Vileaf, yet here we are with another one. I played the former and wasn’t expecting much. What I found was an enjoyable 3D platformer. Marsupilami: Hoobadventure is even better in most ways, save for its lone glaring fault. The controls and level design are so precisely on point that I think it’s likely that Ocellus Studio had to focus on quality or quantity....

Since the 1960s, the Juggernaut has always been a major part of the X-Men corner of Marvel. Even though – much like Dr. Doom – he’s one of those villains who can be plugged in against any hero, Juggernaut’s existence always comes back to his origins as Charles Xavier’s demented half-brother. Over the years, he’s become something of an antihero at times or at least on the cusp of true reform....

Remember Marvel’s Avengers? Square Enix’s live service game gets its long-expected addition of Bucky Barnes, AKA the Winter Soldier, on 29th November. Bucky’s moveset is described as having “echoes” of Avengers core characters Captain America and Black Widow, alongside “all-new animations, a new full skill tree, and heroic abilities all his own”. The character will be voiced by Friday Night Lights’ Scott Porter, who previously voiced Bucky in Lego Marvel’s Avengers....

Jack Kirby’s Eternals are going to get their own movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe next year! These are far from your traditional superheroes, though. The days of the 16-bit wars are long gone, as Masahiro Sakurai encouraged the fans watching a Nintendo presentation to check out Banjo-Kazooie on Xbox One. The relationship between Microsoft and Nintendo has been more than cordial of late, as games that were exclusive to Microsoft platforms have been appearing on the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo representatives actually thanked Microsoft during the Nindies presentation when a port of Cuphead was announced for the Nintendo Switch and an Xbox Game Studios title is appearing on the system later this month in the form of Ori and the Blind Forest....

Is Rings of Power’s Mithril Origin Reveal Canon? The short answer here is no, mithril’s origin in the Rings of the Power is not based on J. R. R. Tolkien’s work and is entirely unique to the series. In the original novels, mithril is simply a naturally occurring ore that—by the end of the Third Age—is nearly priceless for its rarity. In the Rings of Power, however, High King Gil-galad reveals to Elrond that mithril may instead be the result of a battle between a pure-hearted elf and a Balrog of Morgoth on either side of a tree high in the Misty Mountains....

The official MultiVersus Twitter account teased yet another character today within its ever-expanding brawling game, leading some to speculate that Saw content is coming to MultiVersus. If you watched the premiere of The Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer earlier today, you got to hear the voices of several of the cast such as Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and of course, Chris Pratt as Mario himself. Fans had a wide range of reactions to Pratt as Mario, especially since it had been long teased that nobody would be prepared to hear his voice as the Mushroom Kingdom hero, when in fact the reveal of his voice was…pretty average....

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order may have had its performance issues, but it delivered a truly great Star Wars experience for fans of the series. It introduced many new species of creatures as well as creating numerous new characters that will likely find their way into other forms of Star Wars media. The game does a great job of delivering a story full of surprises, with some characters breaking outside of the traditional Star Wars tropes....

While Donald and Goofy tend to be Sora’s constant companions across the series, Kingdom Hearts features the main cast traveling from world to world quite often. Lifting from a wide array of Disney history, it’s only natural Sora makes a few friends along the way. Party members come and go based on which worlds players are currently in, but this approach helps give the series its flavor. More importantly, it encourages party variety on a scale most RPGs don’t....

UPDATE: Metal Gear Solid artist Yoji Shinkawa also appears to have left Konami and joined Kojima Productions. ORIGINAL STORY: Hideo Kojima has officially left Konami, it’s been confirmed. He leaves to open a new independent studio – Kojima Productions – where he will work in collaboration with Sony on a console exclusive PS4 title. “I will be taking on a new challenge by establishing my own independent studio, and I am thrilled to be able to embark on this journey with PlayStation, who I have continued to work with all these past years,” said Kojima....

Despite some confusion about the title’s release, Gearbox Software set a firm release window for Aliens: Colonial Marines early this month and showed it off this past week at E3. On June 11, they held Gearbox Community Day 2011 in Dallas, TX, and along with learning some juicy game details (like that we will be able to explore the original alien derelict where the first eggs were found in Alien), gamers also learned that Lance Henriksen will be lending his iconic voice and likeness to the game....

Minecraft‘s Caves and Cliffs update is fast approaching and will add a ton of new features to the massively popular game. On the road to this enormous update, various snapshot builds of the game have offered previews of what’s coming. We’ve already seen glowing berries, glowing squid, and a change to how the game will generate mountains. Films are sometimes critically panned not because they’re inherently bad, but because of the larger story surrounding them. Consider Battlefield Earth, for example: a terrible movie, sure, but its production history (not to mention its connection to the Church of Scientology) made it an easy target. Solar Crisis, released in 1990 was an equally awful movie–and with a budget of $55 million, just as financially calamitous–but it was largely ignored while Battlefield Earth‘s hideousness was trumpeted from the rooftops....

I have been… let’s be polite and say I’ve been skeptical about Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Not because I didn’t think it would be any good, necessarily, but because there were alarm bells ringing in my head as to whether it was even necessary. Life is Strange was a superb experience that felt complete, and with such special experiences, attempting to bolt something else on is a very risky proposition....

Lost Judgment was released in September of 2021 and is the second title in RGG Studio’s Judgment franchise. Like its 2019 predecessor and the studio’s Yakuza series, the game is set in Japan, with much of the story taking place in fictional areas of Tokyo and Yokohama; the two largest cities in the Kanto region. Greg Chun returns to provide the English voice of the game’s main protagonist and is joined by a talented cast that includes Todd Haberkorn and Artt Butler....

If you’re looking for get into the Halloween spirit and enjoy a creepy story, Man Of Medan might be right up your alley. In this game your decisions carry the story, and some scenes and chapters aren’t even available unless you make specific choices. Not to mention, it’s your decision at crucial times that define which ending you’ll eventually get. It’s possible to save all characters from being driven to their wits end on the Ourang Medan, but it’s also possible to see them all perish within no time....

Mario Kart Tour, the iOS and Android version of Mario Kart, has opened its multiplayer beta test, but only for players who pay the £5/month Gold Pass subscription. The new mode, which allows players to go head-to-head on their phones, will be available in beta form until December 27 (via Siliconera). Nintendo has warned players that, because the multiplayer mode is in beta form, there will likely be crashes, bugs, a healthy dose of lag....
