Square Enix has announced a slight delay to the planned late-October release of Marvel’s Avengers planned Kate Bishop Hawkeye DLC and has pushed the next generation versions into 2021. Writing in a State of the Game Update on the game’s official blog, Crystal Dynamics’ head of studio Scot Amos apologised to fans for the delay, acknowledging that the game’s launch had gotten off to a rocky start: “Marvel’s Avengers’ launch was not without turbulence, and we recognize that a number of issues detracted from your enjoyment of the game....

The Sword and Shield season just launched yesterday in Marvel Snap, and with it came the introduction of a brand new card: Nick Fury. Early reports and testing seem to suggest that he might be the most underwhelming season pass card so far, as he’s a 5-cost, 7-power card that adds three random 6-cost cards to your hand. It’s a fun card to play around with for sure, but not necessarily meta-defining like Wave was back in the first season....

Sony has announced during this afternoon’s State of Play that MediEvil will be getting a demo before the game’s October 25 release. However, this demo will only be available for a limited time, going away on October 6, which many may missed due to everything else revealed during the State of Play, such as the new The Last of Us 2 trailer. This news may not be surprising for astute gamers, as the MediEvil demo leaked on the PlayStation Store, but was quickly taken down earlier today....

After revealing it a few weeks ago, Asobo Studios has formally released the second world update for Microsoft Flight Simulator — World Update 2: The United States of America. This update covers scenery data straight across the contiguous United States, including improvements made to Alaska and Hawaii. Third-party developers released new assets showcasing upcoming add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator. We take a look at a brand new trailer of the upcoming FS Traffic AI add-on by Just Flight. According to the developer, there is “still some way to go yet in terms of the development,” but you can see that it already looks quite promising. Next, we take a look at Pacific Island Simulations‘ Incheon International Airport (RKSI), which serves the capital of South Korea, Seoul....

Today third-party developers revealed new screenshots of upcoming aircraft and released a new airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. We start with Iris Simulations released the first screenshots of the Pilatus PC-24 business jet. If you think these look great, it’s actually the lower-detailed Xbox version. The PC version will be even more detailed. The aircraft is still “a long way off” but you can see it below. Next, is Just Flight showing off the 8K textures for the Fokker F28 Fellowship....

Microsoft has formally confirmed its offer of a 10-year contract to keep releasing Call of Duty on PlayStation platforms after its planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard. In an opinion article on the deal published in the Wall St Journal, Microsoft president Brad Smith committed to making its 10-year COD contract “legally enforceable by regulators in the US, UK and European Union” - territories in which the company was previously felt to be struggling to get its acquisition agreed without making some sort of concessions....

As Microsoft works towards closing their acquisition of Activision Blizzard while awaiting approval from the FTC, Phil Spencer has put out a couple of tweets stating the company’s intention to bring Call of Duty games to Nintendo platforms for the next 10 years. In addition to that, Spencer also stated that the company was committed to bringing the series to Steam at the same time as Xbox going forward. He reaffirms the belief that Microsoft wants to be able to bring games to a wider audience, regardless of how they choose to play....

PETA, one of the world’s largest animal rights organizations, is demanding popular streamer Natalia “Alinity” Mogollon be banned from Twitch. Peta responded to a tweet which called for them to take action by saying “we are aware of the cruelty and have demanded Twitch take her off the platform.” Alinity came under fire last week after a clip of her and her dog went viral: While it does seem ridiculous to bar someone from the platform for a mostly harmless interaction with their dog, Twitch has been known to wield their authority brashly when it comes to instances that could be seen as sexually suggestive—banning streamers for relatively benign missteps with increasingly high frequency....

Buddy Murphy is a budding star on WWE’s SmackDown brand. Last week Murphy wrestled a highly-competitive one-on-one match against Roman Reigns, where he lost but looked like he belonged up against WWE’s top star. PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan has explained why the upcoming revamp to PlayStation Plus won’t include first-party day one releases. Ryan was speaking to GamesIndustry.biz in an extensive interview on the new three-tiered PlayStation Plus. Before yesterday’s announcement, rumours had pegged the revamp as PlayStation’s answer to Xbox Game Pass. One of that service’s perks sees games like Halo Infinite & Forza Horizon 5 launch day one onto the service. Kena: Bridge of Spirits, the upcoming action adventure from developer Ember Lab, will be out on PlayStation 5 on August 24. During Sony’s February State of Play showcase, a new trailer for the game was released, showing us more of its eco-fantasy story, which seems to revolve around the Rot—a groupd of fuzzy little capering companions. King Arthur: Knights Tale, a tactical role-playing game, has a new release date of April instead of its prior March release date after another delay. It’s another change in a string of pushbacks, but one that will ensure the game is as ready to ship as possible. After all, no one likes an unfinished game....

Kingdom Hearts II has a funny relationship with level design. Where the original Kingdom Hearts featured quite a bit of platforming– nothing atypical for action games of the era– the series’ first numbered sequel released at a time period where the action genre had ironed itself out, so to speak. With greater emphasis on technical combat, Kingdom Hearts II pushed level design aside. Which isn’t to say the worlds featured in Kingdom Hearts II are poor....

Konami’s much-talked about “unannounced game” could be a new Suikoden title. A renewed trademark for the game – filed back in July, but only recently spotted by SegmentNext – has popped up in Mexico, leading some to speculate that if Konami’s upcoming TGS spot doesn’t involve Castlevania, Metal Geat Solid, or Silent Hill, then it just may be about a new installment of the classic RPG series. The filing – spotted by posters on Reddit and shared at ResetEra – tells us that the filing was made at the end of July and… well, not much else, actually....
