Sony’s as-yet unannounced PlayStation 5 has been named-dropped on a resume for Tomohiro Tokoro, a 3D character modeler working for Luminous Productions. According to Tokoro-san’s LinkedIn profile (via Gematsu), the Square Enix-owned studio is currently working on a ’new AAA title for PS5.’ That’s literally all we know at this point, although that’s to be expected considering we know next to nothing on Sony’s next-generation system yet. Interestingly, the news comes not long after it was confirmed that Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata had quit Square Enix to form his own studio....

Before I played Mark of the Ninja, I was doubtful of how well it could pull off stealth in a side-scroller. Every other stealth game I’d ever played had been either top-down or 3D, allowing for much greater freedom of movement. I didn’t really think a 2D game could pull off. Good stealth is hard enough to do in any game, but it takes some seriously great design to make it feel natural in a sidescroller....

Anticipation for Marvel’s Avengers is heating up and as fans search for more clues about the gameplay, the director of the title has shared how much game time players can expect from the title. Director Richard Briggs claimed that “I think it’ll depend on exactly how deep you want to go into it, […]So if you think about previous Crystal games, you know that if you want to be playing your way through the core story, it’s going to be in that area, 10 to 12 hours....

2K Games and Firaxis Games revealed a new trailer and plenty of gameplay of the turn-based tactical game Marvel’s Midnight Suns. The trailer is dedicated to Nico Minoru, following up on her brief introduction from a few days ago. The trailer provides an in-depth look at her mechanics and powers, including the interesting Roulette mechanic that adds a random element to Nico’s gameplay. According to the pattern for these reveals, we’re likely to also get a video explaining her history soon....

One of the joys of the Toy Story franchise over the years has been the new toys that we meet in each adventure. Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe has announced another batch of titles for its PlayStation Hits collection, including Metal Gear Solid 5: The Definitive Experience and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Both titles will join the budget-priced range on November 2, alongside Until Dawn, One Piece Pirate Warriors 3, and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Definitive Experience includes Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, plus all available DLC....

Today third-party developers had more news to share about add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator. We start with Just Flight, which released a new introduction trailer of the highly-anticipated vintage airliner BAE 146. We get to take a look at its features and flight deck, which definitely appears to be as complex as it should be. Update: as previously announced Microsoft has released the Dornier Do J Wal (A.K.A. Local Legend 3) on the official marketplace....

Today third-party developers shared several new screenshots of upcoming aircraft and airport add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator. We get a new screenshot for Fenix Simulations’ much-anticipated Airbus A320, showcased on its official Discord server. This time around, it provides a nice look at the flight deck. Next is an update from IndiaFoxtEcho, providing new screenshots of the Sukhoi SU-31 and Aermacchi M-346 Master, alongside a development update. We also hear that the Eurofighter Typhoon is being modeled, but the developer is not ready to show screenshots....

We’re only a few short weeks away from The International 2019, Dota 2‘s annual tournament. As such, it’s probably for the best that the third Immortal Treasure has finally been released. Owners of The International Battle Pass – a purchasable addition to the free-to-play MOBA which levels up as you play, and unlocks rewards – will likely have a bunch of these chests waiting for them. Each Immortal Treasure contains a fancy new cosmetic item for a hero, offering up new visuals for some of their abilities....

Inscryption and Unpacking lead the nominations at this year’s Independent Games Festival. Established in 1998 - that’s 24 years ago and yes, thanks, that does make me feel very, very old - the Independent Games Festival was established to “encourage innovation in game development and to recognise the best independent game developers”, kind of like a Sundance for indie games. As well as a heavy presence from Unpacking and the excellent - and surprising - card game Inscryption, there are also nominations for Loop Hero, Overboard, and Sable....

Borderlands 3 is arguably one of the most anticipated games of E3 2019 if not the year itself. It’s the first time that a wholehearted sequel has been produced in seven years. In the past few months, we’ve seen efforts to showcase the game via live stream and even have people preview the game during a hands-on event. Kalimba, the totem platformer which launched for Xbox One back in December, is now available on Steam, developer Press Play has announced. The game sees players controlling animated totems on a quest to overthrow an evil shaman and reclaim the island of Kalimba for the Kalimbi people. In addition to launching on Steam, Press Play has also announced the release of the first title update and level packs, for both PC and Xbox One....

Today NIS America announced the western release dates for the upcoming stealth-action game by Acquire Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief. The game will release in North America on October 11, 2022, for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. European players will have to wait for October 14. These dates basically straddle the Japanese release date which is set on October 13. On top of the release dates, we also get a trailer, which you can enjoy below....

Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush is coming to Europe on May 8, Nintendo has announced. The Wii U platformer arrived in North America last month under the title Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, but it isn’t yet clear why there’s been such a delay with releasing the game in Europe. The Rainbow Paintbrush continues Kirby’s adventures in Dream Land, with players tasked with using the GamePad to draw lines to guide him through the level....
