Due to her nature, she fits Midnight Suns very well, considering that the game’s main theme is magic....

Kalypso Media and Torus Games have announced tennis sim Matchpoint – Tennis Championships coming to consoles & PC in the Spring. The game promises to serve up an “authentic gameplay and immersive tennis experience”. The focus will be on realistic scenarios and player reactions in Matchpoint – Tennis Championships. Microsoft has officially stopped selling 12-month Xbox Live Gold Plans, possibly in preparation for the next-generation of Xbox hardware. Per TrueAchievements, a Microsoft representative confirmed that the removal was not in error, though players are still able to purchase one-month or three-month plans. “At this time, Xbox has decided to remove the 12 months Xbox Live Gold SKU from the Microsoft Online Store,” stated the representative. “Customers can still sign up for a one month or three month Xbox Live Gold subscription online through the Microsoft Store....

Free-to-play fighting game Killer Instinct, which came to the Windows Store back in March 2016, is coming to Steam later this year, developer Iron Galaxy announced recently. Tripwire Interactive has blown the lid off Killing Floor 2’s 2018 Halloween Horrors: Monster Masquerade update, which comes complete with an array of new items including a crossover with Road Redemption. Only PC players will have access to the crossover right now, as the game isn’t out yet on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This nets you a Berserker class weapon in the shape of the Road Redeemer, which is a baseball bat covered in barbed wire – a bit like Negan from The Walking Dead’s Lucille, really....

Silent Hill fans, rejoice! Konami has officially confirmed that its iconic horror franchise will return with a Silent Hill 2 remake, which is scheduled to be a timed-console exclusive on PlayStation 5, with a PC version in the works, too. Today, during Konami’s Silent Hill livestream, a short video was shown with Akira Yamaoka’s signature soundtrack while footage of fog billowed in darkness, before giving way to brand new gameplay which formally confirmed that a new Silent Hill 2 remake is indeed on its way....

Last Encounter, a brand new roguelike twin-stick shoot-’em-up from developer Exordium Games, is heading to PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Switch later this year. Way back in September of 2008, Avi Arad, ex-CEO of Marvel studios, optioned the movie rights to the 2007 hit game Mass Effect. Being one of my all-time favorite games, I was both happy and concerned. Mass Effect told a wonderful story, in a brand new and original sci-fi universe with lovable and well thought-out characters. The way the game was presented, notably during conversations and cutscenes, was very cinematic with a clear emphasis on showcasing the beautifully rendered graphics and character animations as if it were a film....

Whenever a new batch of consoles shows up, we can always be sure that certain games from the last several years will get remasters. Typically, this means people on consoles get access to the games at much higher resolutions and framerates. For PC players, it can depend. We may see both good and bad changes to textures, geometry, and lighting without much to really entice owners of the originals. Life is Strange Remastered Collection is guilty of all of this, plus the former game has a couple of bugs I’ve already noticed....
