Regardless of the IP that the developers work with, they make sure to satisfy as many fans as possible (perhaps to an unhealthy extent). Players can unlock and control nearly every identifiable character within that IP, regardless of if they have practical gameplay uses. Sony’s Cambridge Studio, known as Guerrilla Games Cambridge when it was shut down, is perhaps best known for its 1998 hack and slash platformer MediEvil. The PS1 game is often hailed as one of the system’s classic and most unique games, but despite its popularity, Sony has rarely revisited the franchise over the years, with the last entry being 2005’s MediEvil: Resurrection on the PSP. That’s why it came as quite a surprise when it was announced that a full-fledged MediEvil remake was in the works for the PlayStation 4, but after playing it, we sincerely hope this isn’t the last time we see Sir Daniel Fortesque....

The development team behind Metroid Dread has put out its fourth Dread Report, focusing on the history of the Metroid series and how the new game will honour the 35 year old saga. The report, which you can read here, mainly focuses on the 2D outings including 1986’s original Metroid for the Family Computer Disk System. In a part of the report looking at 1992’s Metroid II: Return of Samus for the Game Boy, we’re also reminded of the Chozo civilization, and teased that we could be seeing them make an appearance in the new game....

Today third-party developers had reveals and assets to share about upcoming scenery add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator. First of all, we get an announcement from FSimStudios, which revealed its rendition of Toronto City Billy Bishop Airport (CYTZ) in Canada. It’ll be released within the next couple of weeks and it’ll be the first of the developer’s “premium” line promising “many more features, details, and landmarks” compared to previous products from the same brand, on top of “ultra-sharp textures, amazing level of detail and accuracy, fully modeled interiors, landmarks beyond the airport (which in this case means downtown Toronto), and more....

Microsoft Flight Simulator players on PC recently benefited from the massive Sim Update V. This update addressed a number of performance issues and also added in some new graphical elements and quality of life improvements. However, issues have come up for some players. Microsoft HoloLens, the augmented reality tech which is Microsoft’s answer to virtual reality, will launch a Developer Edition in Q1 2016 with the eye-watering price tag of $3,000. The price makes HoloLens twice as expensive as Google’s now closed Google Glass developer program. The Initiative, Microsoft’s new game studio set up to reboot Perfect Dark, has seen an exodus of key staff over the last 12 months. Last weekend, it was spotted that Perfect Dark’s game director Dan Neuburger had left the studio after nearly four years.
