A new Nexus Mod created by LordEmil1 for Mass Effect 2 will allow PC gamers to hop around the solar system in first-person. The mod only affects the game while the player is in exploration mode and in conversation with other characters, so no changes to any of the gunplay have been made. An update to this mod looks likely to be coming, and will allow for sections of combat to have a first-person perspective; LordEmil1 is currently working on it and trying to resolve “issues with the camera clipping with Shepard’s body and head....

Media Molecule, the studio behind sandbox creation engine Dreams, has unveiled a beta evaluation process for those players who want to explore “viable business opportunities.” Dreams lets its community create almost anything, like an atmospheric horror twist on the Dunder Mifflin office, a rave with luminous pants, or a grim and monstrous fantasy world. Media Molecule maintains that the player owns the rights to their creation, in spite of its use of the studio’s engine and tools and Sony’s role as a publisher, and the fact that these projects are only accessible through Dreams....

Volition has announced the final team from Agents of Mayhem, Carnage a Trois. Continuing its theme of being totally on the cutting edge of self-aware humour and riddled with curse words, this trailer shows off Mayhem leader Persephone’s final team of choice, and some of their abilities. This could well be the last trailer of the approx. 187 others that’ve come before it. Introducing ex US Army Drill Sergeant and master tactician Braddock who comes from a long line of military lifers....

Today Microsoft and a relevant third-party developer had interesting news to share about Microsoft Flight Simulator and its add-ons. We start with a new video directly from Microsoft, part of the Feature Discovery Series. This time around, we get to see one of the helicopters that will be launched (alongside Gliders) for free with the 40th Anniversary Edition and Sim Update 11, the Guimbal Cabri G2. We get to see how the Cabri was recreated in the simulator, in terms of visuals, sounds, and systems....

Discord is said to be exploring its options for a sales process that could see the gaming-focused communications platform up for offer in a deal potentially worth up to $10 billion USD, with one of the interested parties being Microsoft. That’s according to reports from both GamesBeat and Bloomberg (behind a paywall) who cite sources familiar with the matter, claiming multiple parties have shown their interest in the company with one of those sources even going as far to say it has already signed an exclusive acquisition with one, as yet unnamed company....

Intel has yet to produce a substantial Arc launch in North America and Europe, but that hasn’t stopped its marketing team from putting together a bundle for its eventual launch. Back in 1998, Takashi Shimizu unwittingly created a monster when he debuted a couple of short films about a haunted house. Little did he know, a lingering horror franchise was about to be born. In 2000, a first feature film about the story, Ju-On: The Curse, arrived – and the rest is history. Spoon-wielding Pokémon Kadabra will be returning to Pokémon: The Card Game for the first time in over two decades this June, following illusionist, magician, and spoon-bender Uri Geller’s decision to drop his long-running lawsuit against the character. Geller first sued Nintendo in November 2000, claiming the spoon-bearing Kadabra - known as “Yungerer” or “Yungeller” in Japan - was an unauthorised appropriation of his identity. That initial California lawsuit was dismissed in 2003, but additional lawsuits reportedly continued outside the US, and Kadabra has remained absent from Pokémon: The Card Game since 2002....

Today Konami announced its financial results for the first nine months of the fiscal year 2022, which ended on December 31, 2021. The publisher mentions that the Digital Entertainment Business, which includes console and mobile games, on top of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, performed strongly, and the other businesses are also recovering from the impact of COVID-19. As such, the whole company’s revenue increased by 12% year-on-year, while profit grew by 30.2%....

Originally planned for November release, L.A Noire VR Case Files was delayed. Today Rockstar has finally pinned down a new date for its release. The special VR version of L.A Noire features seven select cases from the original 1940s detective game which have been recreated for VR on the HTC Vive. Rockstar says this will be an “unprecedented interactive experience” when it launches. When it was announced, Rockstar’s Sam Houser said, “Now with a choice of spectacular virtual reality, stunning 4K, or the freedom of portable play, these enhanced versions are a perfect opportunity for players to experience this richly detailed world in a whole new way....
