Last month it was revealed that, following on from the poor sales of Agents of Mayhem, the developer Volition had decided to let go a number of staff from the studio. The studio could do with a bit of positive news, so good thing it was announced yesterday that the long-time producer Jim Boone would be returning to the company as the studio development director. Boone’s return to Volition follows his departure 18 months ago for a Product Manager role at Riot Games....

The Just Cause movie adaptation has landed a director: Michael Dowse. The project has been in the works since 2017. Originally, San Andreas director Brad Peyton signed on to the movie, with Jason Momoa in the role of Rico Rodriguez. However, Peyton revealed that there was no script for the adaptation, and that he and Momoa weren’t available to take on a new movie until after 2019. Luckily, this gave Constantin Film and Prime Universe the time to source a scriptwriter and a new director, while Momoa stepped out of the spotlight....

Kerbal Space Program 2’s release window has been shifted from the fiscal year of 2020 to the fiscal year of 2021, as stated in publisher Take-Two Interactive’s earnings call (via PC Gamer). The sequel to the incredibly popular and incredibly ridiculous space flight sim was announced in the summer of this year, and will be made by Star Theory Games. This time, the Kerbals are looking beyond the blue marble and will build spaceships to fly to new planets and establish colonies....

We’ve been testing the MSI GE76 Raider, a high-spec machine that includes each company’s flagship parts for this generation, and the performance on tap is nothing short of incredible. The 12900K and RTX 3080 Ti remain some of the best gaming hardware available in desktop PCs - despite frustrating pricing and availability issues - so it’s been fun to see how the mobile versions perform....

Garena, the company that distributes League of Legends in Southeast Asia and Taiwan through its Garena+ service, has launched a new event in which League players can unlock the Prestige Edition of the immensely popular K/DA skin for Akali through a gambling mechanic that can require up to 10,000 Riot Points, which equals around $70, in order to get the skin. At Microsoft’s XO19 conference, Dontnod Entertainment announced a brand new game. The Life is Strange and Vampyr developer is working on yet another new game, entitled Tell Me Why. Fans of the Life is Strange franchise should be excited for this one as it looks like it shares a lot of the same DNA. The trailer stars a pair of teenage twins who are very close. Much like the character-driven Life is Strange, Tell Me Why appears to be a story where the focus is the intimate relationship between two characters with a supernatural twist....

2K Games has finally announced a release date for its anticipated game Mafia II .
