Summer tends to be pretty light in terms of game releases, and this year in particular, all of the big summer titles are releasing in August. July might seem like a month to ignore all of the new releases at first glance, but there are a bunch of games that are adding a nice amount of variety to the gaming landscape. Let’s take a look at the top games coming out in July 2017....
Nathan Viniconis, humble Python programmer and Kinect enthusiast, set out to accomplish one task: to take a snapshot from a Kinect and place that into Minecraft. More technically, he aimed to transform the photo into a MineCraft save file by using depth and color information “to approximate the position and types of blocks to best represent the 3D point cloud in MineCraft.” The results speak for themselves. Today Square Enix revealed three new action figures from its popular Play Arts Kai brand dedicated to Kingdom Hearts III. The figures portray Sora, Riku, and Kairi, and the first two come in Deluxe and Standard versions, the difference being the number of accessories and the price. Sora and Riku’s deluxe versions are priced at $209.99/€174.99. Their standard versions are priced at $189.99/€164.99. Kairi sits in the middle at least in North America, priced at $199....
PES 2019 developer Konami has announced a new partnership with AS Monaco for the upcoming footie title. Part of the agreement will see the video game giant produce a dedicated cover showcasing a number of top stars from the club, as well as playing a ‘key part’ in future Ambassador activations. Founded in 1924, AS Monaco is based at Stade Louis II in Fontvielle and ranks as one of France’s most successful football clubs to date, notching up eight league titles, six domestic cups, and regularly participating in competitions across Europe....
Epic Games has announced the release of a new Fortnite update, adding a wealth of bug fixes following numerous requests from fans over the holiday period. In addition, the game now sports Cosy Campfires, which offer a chance for players to heal up before their next battle. ‘It’s cold outside! Gather around the fire with friends and heal up before your next battle. This healing trap must be placed on a floor and persists for 25 seconds,’ explained Epic....
It has been more than a month since Elden Ring burst onto the scene and staked its claim as perhaps the greatest game of all time. Marvel’s Avengers announced over the weekend that costumes inspired by the superhero movies will soon be for sale in the Marketplace. The outfits come as part of a Red Room Takeover event this spring. During the event, which does not yet have a date, players can receive special rewards and access new missions. Developer Crystal Dynamics didn’t share too many details about Red Room Takeover, but fans did get a glimpse of future content thanks to a recent development roadmap....
