It looks like a new Final Fantasy 16 trailer may debut next month. Though not set in stone, of course, producer/director Naoki Yoshida spoke at Tokyo Games Show and teased that Square Enix will “probably release the trailer next month”. “I haven’t gotten a chance to talk to the marketing or public relations teams at all, so I’m not sure how much I’m allowed to say, but I think we’ll probably be able to release the next trailer next month or so," Yoshida said (thanks, Gematsu)....

Development of Lords of the Fallen 2, the sequel to CI Games’ Dark Souls-eseque medieval slasher, has gotten back on track thanks to a little help from Defiant Studios. A Metal Gear Solid fan in the UK has become the first reciepient of a new prosthetic arm cover officially licensed by Konami and modelled after that of Venom Snake from Metal Gear Solid V. Revealed via the series’ official Twitter account, 29 year old Daniel Melville—who was born without his right hand— is the lucky first recipent of the arm, which is the result of a team-up between Konami and prosthetics company Open Bionics....

Today both Microsoft and third-party developers had plenty of goodies in store for Microsoft Flight Simulator enthusiasts. Microsoft has announced a new hardware bundle featuring a white Xbox One X and a copy of Bethesda’s upcoming Fallout 76. Known as the Robot White Special Edition Fallout 76 bundle, the pack features a 1TB console and a copy of the online post-apocalyptic RPG. There’s not much else to say about it, really; it’s an Xbox One X, only white instead of black. Elsewhere, the format holder is also launching matching white edition of the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, as well as the Elite Pro 2 + SuperAmp Pro Performance Gaming Audio System headset from Turtle Beach....

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta is about to enter Weekend Two – which means Xbox and PC players can finally play the game. PlayStation owners will once again get to play – regardless of if they have pre-ordered the game. Yes, this means the MW2 beta supports crossplay. Just as with last weekend, there’ll be two phases – with early access from September 22-23. This will then be followed by an open beta stage where anyone can download and play between 24-26 regardless of pre-order status....

Jason West, the co-founder of Infinity Ward and Respawn, has been snapped up by former Gears of War developer Epic Games. That’s according to Geoff Keighley, who wrote on Twitter that West has been with Epic for about a month now. West left Respawn back in 2013, and it is believed he hasn’t worked on any game since then. His new position with Epic hasn’t been disclosed yet, but presumably we’ll find out at some point....
