Like a Dragon: Ishin! has unveiled a new gameplay mechanic coming to the title, and it allows for some celebrity cameos no one would have expected. In a press release put out by Sega on Jan. 26, it was revealed that the upcoming remake would feature a gameplay mechanic known as Trooper Cards. Through these, players can unleash special abilities and otherwise boost their stats in combat, giving them the edge in more difficult and precarious situations....

Link’s Awakening has been out for over a week and audiences love how well the remake has stayed true to the original game. In both the 1993 GameBoy game and 2019 Switch remake, Secret Seashells are hidden throughout the island. While the original game featured 26 shells, the remake has 50. Though these seashells are worthless on their own, they can be traded in for prizes - including the best sword in the game....

Lollipop Chainsaw is back, in pog form. Not really. But it is, apparently, coming back, according to publisher Dragami Games, and we should all look forward to it. Yoshimi Yasuda, previously the CEO of Kadokawa Games (erstwhile publisher of Lollipop Chainsaw), has established a new publisher, called Dragami Games. Yasuda tweeted (via VGC): “Lollipop Chainsaw is back by Dragami Games. Please look forward to it.” So I suppose we all ought to start doing that....

A four day Metal Gear Survive beta is scheduled to take place from Thursday, January 18, until Sunday, January 21, Konami announced today. Microsoft is reportedly working on a Monster Hunter style co-op game. Developer Certain Affinity is behind the game, having previously collaborated on Halo and Call of Duty games among others. The news comes from GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb, speaking on the Giant Bomb podcast. “They’re working with Certain Affinity on what seems like a Monster Hunter style game - a Monster Hunter clone,” said Grubb. “They see this gameplay style succeeding, and Microsoft’s like, ‘hey, we should try to make one of those, is anyone out there going to pitch one?...
