The Rainbow Six Siege Invitationals are once again upon us. As is tradition, it’s time to learn what to expect from the coming season, dubbed Void Edge. The latest season will bring two new operators, Oryx and Iana into Year 5, as well as a rework of the Oregon map. The Jordanian Defender Oryx is a beast of a defender, ready to go full Kool-Aid man on unsuspecting players. As early leaks implied, Oryx’s special ability allows him to lower his shoulder, gaining a burst of speed that outmatches any other operator in the game....

Following today’s release of Sim Update 7, Microsoft announced the development roadmap for the next few months. We learn that World Update 7 is scheduled to be released at the end of the month on January 31 alongside the second “Local Legend” aircraft. We already know that the update will feature Australia and the aircraft is the “Southern Cross” Fokker F.VIIb/3m trimotor flown by Charles Kingsford Smith in the first trans-Pacific flight to Australia from the mainland United States....

Heavy metal band Iron Maiden are making a mobile game. Called ‘Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast’, the game is described as a free-to-play “action-packed” RPG that will see players take on the role of the band’s mascot Eddie, as he travels through time to explore new worlds while battling against characters featured on Iron Maiden’s album covers. The game is being developed “in close collaboration with Iron Maiden’s management” by Roadhouse Interactive, the Canadian developer responsible for Red Bull Air Race The Game and mobile mountain bike title Bike Unchained....

It’s been a good while since Square Enix’s troubled live-service action-adventure Marvel’s Avengers got itself a new playable hero - its most recent addition was the PlayStation-exclusive Spider-Man at the end of last year - but that drought will finally come to an end next Tuesday, 28th June, with the arrival of Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor. When developer Crystal Dynamics first confirmed Foster was to be Marvel’s Avengers’ next playable hero, the studio said the character would have “a lot in common” with the version of Thor already in-game, albeit with “elements that are distinctly Jane”....

Bulkhead Interactive has been hard at work on its World War II flavoured multiplayer FPS Battalion 1944 for a while now, after securing a Square Enix Collective publishing deal back in March. Death Stranding is unquestionably one of Fall’s most anticipated video games for a variety of reasons.
