As of last year, I fell in love with Forza. I’ve known about the franchise for several years, but I never got the chance to become fully immersed in one of its games until early last year when I picked up Horizon 3 on PC. I was blown away by the experience, and even now I still consider it to be the best racing title I’ve ever played. In addition to that, I’ve also thoroughly enjoyed Motorsport 7, which I got the privilege to review back in October....

Microsoft Studios has announced the acquisition of Fallout: New Vegas studio Obsidian and Wasteland 2 creators inXile Entertainment, adding two more big names to their impressive roster of top game developers. This is quite an impressive haul for Microsoft, with Obsidian boasting huge titles such as Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, South Park: The Stick of Truth and the Pillars of Eternity series. Meanwhile, inXile is known for the likes of Fantastic Contraption, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Bard’s Tale IV and the upcoming Wasteland 3....

The ongoing spat between Microsoft and Sony over whether the former should own Activision Blizzard - and with it, Call of Duty - took a fresh turn over the weekend. In an eye-opening Twitter thread, Microsoft chief communications officer Frank X. Shaw claimed Sony was “briefing people in Brussels claiming Microsoft is unwilling to offer them parity for Call of Duty if we acquire Activision”. “Nothing could be further from the truth,” he continued, before restating a number of Microsoft’s familiar arguments....

Today third-party developers have provided new images portraying upcoming add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator. First of all, we get another look at the Cessna 310 by Milviz. We still don’t know when this one will launch, but apparently, the developer is working hard to deliver it. Next, is the confirmation and more screenshots from MSK Production of Jinnah International Airport (OPKC) in Karachi, Pakistan, which was teased yesterday.

Today third-party developers shared new looks at upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator airport scenery addons. We start with SNJ SIM which shared the first screenshots in Microsoft Flight Simulator of Saga Airport (RJFS) in Japan. The developer also mentioned that he hopes to release both Saga and the port of his Fukuoka International Airport (previously released for another simulator) by the end of the year. Next, is Drzewiecki Design showcasing its progress on the upcoming Newark Liberty International Airport (KEWR) in the United States....

Microsoft has confirmed details on its much-anticipated E3 2018 press conference, with the Xbox giant hosting its annual event on Sunday, June 10 at 8.00pm BST. As expected, the format holder will be streaming the presentation on Mixer and other, as-yet unconfirmed services. Treasure’s much-loved shooter Ikaruga is coming to the Nintendo Switch later this month, Nicalis has announced. Originally released in arcades and later the Sega Dreamcast to critical acclaim, Ikaruga turned heads back in the day for its vibrant graphics and polarity-switching gameplay, requiring sharp-shooters to not only blast enemy forces but change up polarities (black and white) to absorb incoming attacks of matching colour. This adds a wrinkle of strategy into the mix, as you won’t be just mindlessly unloading on hordes of foes; you really need to think about what attacks are coming and how you will react to them....

An early peek at one of Intel’s next-generation desktop CPUs is making the rounds. The alleged leak is in reference to an engineering sample of Intel’s upcoming i9-13900K. Images were shared by @9550pro on Twitter after seeing images posted on the Chiphell forum by user Lordzzz. Along with the image of the upcoming CPU, there are also screenshots of CPU-Z which show off the processor’s specs. The Intel i9-13900K is likely going to be Intel’s flagship 13th-generation CPU....

Street Fighter favourite Ken is the seventh character to join the Street Fighter 5 roster, Capcom has announced. Featuring a new look, Capcom says Ken “brings an array of new abilities to Street Fighter V, where his tricky mix-ups and flashy combos have the ability to bewilder opponents and deal huge damage”. Kojima Productions will no longer be attending GDC, owing to “increasing concerns” over the coronavirus outbreak (via VG247).
